And our Miss Universe 2007 is....

MISS JAPAN - Riyo Mori

On the photos above, it's very evident that Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka wasn't happy when she passed on the crown to Miss Japan Riyo Mori as the new Miss Universe. If she wasn't really that happy, she should have hidden it at least for that moment. Her reaction then was very disturbing.

Here's Riyo Mori with Miss Universe Organization Owner/President Donald Trump and the pageant night's host Mario Lopez. Mr. Trump was visibly happier than the winner.

Comparing this blog's hot 15 favorites with the actual results, out of the 15 actual finalists, 10 candidates were already on the final list of favorites:

Mykiru's List of Hot 15 Favorites:
1. Venezuela - (ended up 2nd Runner Up)
2. Korea - (3rd Runner Up)
3. Greece
4. USA - (4th Runner Up)
5. South Africa
6. Mexico - (Top 10)
7. Spain
8. Japan - (Miss Universe 2007)
9. Brazil - (1st Runner Up)
10. India - (Top 10)
11. Tanzania - (Top 10)
12. Thailand - (Top 15)
13. Philippines - (not a finalist, but was adjudged again for the 3rd consecutive time as Miss Photogenic)
14. Aruba
15. Angola (Top 10)

So, that's 10 out of 15, or 66%. That's great, and even greater 'coz the actual Top 5 finalists (Japan, Brazil, Venezuela, Korea, Mexico) were enlisted in Mykiru's Top 10 Hot Favorites List.

Unlike last year, no great disappointment happened this time because all the 15 finalists were at least included in the list of favorites by different sites, except that big favorites like Greece, South Africa and Italy failed to make it to the top 15. And also, Japan and Brazil were favorites for Top 15, but not for the title, thus the results are somehow a bit surprising.
