FIBA Asia 2013 Quarterfinals Games Results, August 9: Iran gets revenge on Jordan; defending champ China gets eliminated, host Pinoys stun the Kazakhs and Korea booted out Qatar.

IRAN VS JORDAN
Iran too strong for Jordan, scores a 44-point win
Winner: Iran, advanced to the semi-finals (Final 4) and will compete against Chinese Taipei

Iran made sure that what happened during the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship would not happen again. In FIBA Asia 2011, Jordan defeated then defending champ Iran during the quarterfinals, 88-84. Jordan went on to finish as runner-up while Iran settled for 5th Place.

FIBA Asia 2011's big winners are now out of the competition. Runner-up Jordan lost to Iran earlier, and now defending champion China has also been eliminated. It's the first time in 14 years that Chinese Taipei made it to the Final 4. China's loss to Chinese Taipei is considered as the biggest upset in the whole FIBA Asia 2013. Apart from being the defending champion, Chine is also the highest-ranked, 11th, among the 8 quarterfinalists at FIBA Men's Ranking. Chinese Taipei is only 42nd.
