Gilas Pilipinas enters FIBA Asia 2013 semis

Gilas Pilipinas have advanced to FIBA Asia 2013 semi-finals after their 30-point victory against Kazakhstan earlier at MOA Arena.

Gilas were in full control and outpowered the Kazakhs all throughout the game. They posted biggest lead of 31 points, 2:47 minutes remaining in the last period, while the Kazakhs were only leading once, by 1 point, at the start of the 1st Quarter.

The 1st period ended with 32-15 for Gilas. As of halftime, Gilas were still leading, but with a lower lead, 51-40.

After the 3rd, the lead went up to 18: 67-49.

And the final Scores: 88-58.

Gary David was the Best Player with 22 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Also scoring high for the Philippines were Jayson Castro with 13 points, Japeth Aguilar with 11 points and Gabe Norwood with 10 points.

On the side of the Kazakhs, leading scorer was Dmitriy Klimov (14 points), followed by Jerry Jonson and Anton Ponomarev both with 8 points.

As the losing team, Kazakhstan will face Qatar for the 5th to 8th playoffs.
