Gilas Pilipinas almost lost to Hong Kong earlier and could have just ranked 3rd in Group E standings. It could have been a huge upset if winless Hong Kong finally scored a win versus the host team, who's among the leading contenders. Thankfully though that Gilas Pilipinas didn't let that happen.

Hong Kong had a great start, and gave Gilas Pilipinas a really hard time to own the game. Half time scores were in favor of Hong Kong: 33-28.

Gilas were only able to secure a lead during the last minutes of the 3rd Quarter, and finished it with 43-46 on their favor.

They recorded biggest lead of 12 points, 15 seconds remaining in the 4th. And it ended that way. 55-67.

Marcus Douthit and Jeff Chan scored most for Gilas with 13 and 12 points respectively, while Gabe Norwood and Jayson Castro each hadf 11 points.

Hong Kong's Sin Wing Chan and Duncan Reid also gave big contributions to their team, each tallying respectively with 16 and 12 points.
