Gilas Pilipinas vs Japan August 5 Results: Final Scores 90-71
Aired live over TV5, Gilas Pilipinas' game against Japan was again held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
It was Gilas' first game in the 2nd round of 27th FIBA Asia Championship. And it was a huge 90-71 win!
Marcus Douthit of the Philippines posted a total of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Jeff Chan meanwhile scored 16 points while LA Tenorio and Ranidel de Ocampo each with 9 points.
J.R. Sakuragi meanwhile led the Japanese players, with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists, followed by Kosuke Takeuchi with 17 points. Makoto Hiejima hit 9 points.
Now the leader in Group E, Philippines just needs 1 win to be able to advance to the quarterfinals.
