Miss Universe 2012 winner has been crowned and she is Miss USA Olivia Culpo.
Obviously, Miss Universe 2012 followed what Miss International 2012 and Miss World 2012 did earlier this year.
Miss World 2012 was held in China last August and crowned Miss China Wenxia Yu as the winner, then in October, the Miss International 2012 title also went to host candidate Miss Japan Ikumi Yoshimatsu.
And now, the Miss Universe 2012 pageant which happened in Las Vegas, USA had Miss USA Olivia Culpo as the winner.
Miss Earth 2012 held in Manila, Philippines almost crowned its host candidate.
But thanks that they gave the crown to Miss Czech Republic, winning over Miss Philippines who finished as 1st Runner Up.
Back to the Miss Universe 2012 pageant, Miss USA Olivia Culpo was among the favorites, and in fact, she's 9th on my predictions list.
But I wasn't expecting her to win the crown last night.
Miss USA won over "bigger" favorites like Miss Philippines Janine Tugonon, who finished as 1st Runner Up, Miss Venezuela Irene Esser (2nd Runner Up) and even Miss South Africa Melinda Bam who only managed to land in the Top 10.
Even in the Miss Universe 2012 Final Q&A, Miss Australia Renae Ayris and Miss Philippines for me answered better than Miss USA.
Was the result of the Miss Universe 2012 pageant rigged?
Well, don't accuse the pageant with that for Miss Universe owner Donald Trump might sue you, just like what he did to Miss USA 2012 candidate Sheena Monnin from Pennsylvania who accused the Miss USA pageant as rigged. Trump by the way recently won $5M in damages from the lawsuit he filed against the former Miss Pennsylvania.
In Miss Universe history, the USA, where the pageant is based, has hosted 32 times and for the 6th time now, a Miss USA candidate won the title in her home country. The other 5 were Miriam Stevenson in 1954, Carol Morris in 1956, Linda Bement in 1960, Sylvia Hitchcock in 1967 and Brook Lee in 1997.
