Suzuki Cup 2012 Live Updates: Azkals win vs. Myanmar, advance to semi-finals with Thailand

The Philippine Azkals did it again!

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2012's 5th & 6th games in Group A, Philippines Vs Myanmar, Thailand Vs Vietnam, happened simultaneously tonight, November 30, 2012.

The match between the Philippine Azkals and Myanmar, which was aired live over ESPN as well as on AKTV on IBC 13, happened at the Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The Philippines won, 2-0, with Phil Younghusband scoring the 1st goal at the 47th minute, then another one by Angel Guirado at the 93rd minute.

The Thailand-Vietnam match meanwhile was held at the Rajamangala Stadium also in Bangkok with the host team as winner, 2-1.

As the Top 2 teams in Group A, Thailand (3 wins, earning a total of 9 points) and the Philippines (2 wins, 1 loss for a 6 points total) now advance to the semi-finals of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup, which begins December 8.

They will face the Top 2 winners in Group B, whose last group stage games, Singapore Vs. Laos and Malaysia Vs. Indonesia, are happening tomorrow, December 1, 2012, at Malaysia's Shah Alam Stadium and Bukit Jalil National Stadium respectively.

Azkals will take the 1st semi-final game on December 8 against a still unknown opponent to be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium here in the Philippines.

It's now the 2nd consecutive time that the Philippines made it to the semis of Suzuki Cup, while this marks the big comeback in the semis of 3-time champion Thailand.
