Lee Min Ho refuses to dance "Gangnam Style" during Manila visit

Lee Min Ho kinda disappointed some Pinoy fans when he refused to dance "Gangnam Style" during a presscon for his fan meet organized by Bench in Manila, Philippines last Thursday, November 15, 2012.

While some non-Korean celebs such as Madonna, Britney Spears and more gamely did the "Gangnam Style" dance during a concert or TV guesting, Korean heart-throb Lee Min Ho opted not to ride on the popularity of the Korean dance craze when he was requested to do it during the presscon.

"Sample! Sample!", the Filipino press shouted during the event held at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

Some Pinoy fans really looked forward to seeing him do the Gangnam dance. It could have been so cute of him if he danced a little of it, and a video of him dancing Gangnam Style could easily get million views on Youtube.

Lee Min Ho however was open to talk about it during the press conference. He said that he's proud of Gangnam Style 'coz it's the first Korean thing that became really popular worldwide.

"I'd be lying if I said I haven't danced it. I can show you some other time, maybe in a more private event," Lee Min Ho said in Korean, translated into English by fellow Korean, TV host and radio DJ Sam Oh, who hosted the presscon as well as the fan meet the following day at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It was Lee Min Ho's first ever visit to the Philippines. Thanks to Bench Clothing, who brought him here as its newest #GlobalBenchsetter.

Probably the most popular Korean actor today for the Filipinos, Lee Min Ho is well-known to Pinoy viewers as Jun Pyo of "Boys Over Flowers", Gino of "Perfect Match" and Johnny of "City Hunter". His newest soap "Faith" will soon be aired on ABS-CBN, hopefully this December. - www.mykiru.ph
