Hurricane Sandy Update: GOP Candidate killed in storm

Hurricane Sandy (or Superstorm Sandy) has killed at least 72 people in the US, based on the latest update from ABC News on Wednesday.

And among those killed was Grand Old Party (GOP) or Republican Party candidate John R. Rose Sr. from Philippi, West Virginia.

According to ABC, 60-year-old Rose was killed when a tree limb fell on him.

Rose was a candidate for West Virginia's State House District 47 and among the 3 people who died in the said US State.

Outside US, Superstorm Sandy also killed at least 54 people in Haiti, 11 in Cuba and 2 each in the Bahamas, Canada and Dominican Republic.

Some of our kababayans in the US were also among those affected by the storm, but the Philippine Embassy said in a statement that they're not among the casualties of Hurricane Sandy. -
