Star Cinema's "The Mistress" has already earned more than P100-million at the Philippine box-office in only 5 days after it opened in cinemas last Wednesday, September 12.

"The Mistress", which stars the unbeatable tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, and is directed by the great Olivia Lamasan, now becomes the 4th Pinoy movie to hit the P100-million mark at the box-office this 2012.

The other 3 Filipino films which grossed at least P100-M this year were 'UnOfficially Yours' (also a John Lloyd Cruz movie with total gross of P157.25M), 'Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme' (P133.96M) and 'The Healing' (P104.60M), which were all under Star Cinema.

With its strong box-office performance, 'The Mistress' is definitely in the running as the year's #1 top-grossing film and hopefully, as the country's highest-grossing local film of all time.

It's performing as strong as 2011 hits 'Praybeyt Benjamin' and 'No Other Woman' which are currently the 1st and 2nd highest-grossing Filipino films ever, but 'The Mistress' is extra special for Star Cinema 'coz unlike the two movies, the latter is a solo production and not co-produced with Viva Films.

By the end of its run, this for sure will be John Lloyd's 7th movie in the Top 10 Highest-Grossing Local Films list (excluding MMFF movies).

'THE MISTRESS' ENDING
What's with 'The Mistress' movie ending?

Everyone who saw the movie is saying that it has an unexpected, not typical ending.

I haven't seen yet the movie (I'm going to watch anytime this week), so I have no idea yet of its ending.

Boy Abunda gave a lil spoiler on 'The Buzz' earlier and according to him, the character of Ronaldo Valdez died in the movie.

A typical Pinoy has a happy ending, right? So if they're saying 'The Mistress' has a "not typical" ending, that could mean it has a sad ending and not a "happily ever after" one as opposed to previous John Lloyd-Bea movies. - www.mykiru.ph
