For the first time in its 36-year history, the Metro Manila Film Festival this 2010 will feature indie films, in addition to the 8
official mainstream entries announced in July.

Five (5) indie films were selected to be screened, twice per film, from December 16 to 20, as a prelude to the official start of MMFF 2010 on December 25.

The chosen indie films won't be in competition with the 8 mainstream movies and a separate "Best Picture" award awaits the best indie film, also to be given out on the MMFF 2010 Awards Night or Gabi ng Parangal.

It's indeed one innovative move by the MMFF committee
to finally recognize the evolving world of indie cinema.
