Around 19,000 fans flocked to the Big Dome to witness the grand opening of PBA Season 38, which was aired over TV5's Sports5 (AKTV on IBC), now the 2nd consecutive year that TV5 is covering PBA.
There are still 10 teams taking part in the season's 1st conference, the Philippine Cup or the All-Filipino Conference, but there are changes in the name of 4 teams:
Barako Bull Energy has added "Cola" in its name, Barangay Ginebra Kings is back to its previous name Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Powerade Tigers is now GlobalPort Batang Pier and the B-Meg Llamados, last season's Commissioners' Cup champion and formerly Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants, is now San Mig Coffee Mixers.
Whenever a new PBA season opens, I'm actually most excited to see the muses of each of the 10 PBA Teams (I bet kayo 'din!)
And for PBA Season 38, the muses were as follows:
Barako Bull Energy Cola - Ciane Simones Xavier (model)
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel - Georgina Wilson, Petron Blaze Boosters - Isabelle Daza, San Mig Coffee Mixers - Anne Curtis
