'Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles' Movie scared up competitions in the
Philippine Box Office for its opening week.
week, 'Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles' was able to beat other new releases, all Hollywood films, such as 'Argo', 'Looper', 'Alex Cross'
and 'Frankenweenie'.
According to Box Office Mojo's tally for the period October 17 to 21,
'Tiktik' Movie, which stars Dingdong Dantes and Lovi Poe, has earned P25.94-million, good for 2nd spot, behind 'This Guy's In Love With U Mare' which had P49.88-million.
Tiktik's gross for its first 5 days is already GMA Films' best 5-day gross
this 2012 and the movie is already GMA Films' highest-grosser among
the 7 flicks it released so far this year.
Co-produced by Reality Entertainment, AgostosDos Pictures and GMA Films, "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles" was made with a reported budget
of P80-million.
Meanwhile, 'This Guy's In Love With U Mare!', which is produced by Star Cinema and
Viva Films, now has a 2-week total of P197.07-million and obviously, it won't reach the P300-million mark even if it has 2 more weeks in
theaters. (Last year's "Praybeyt Benjamin" with same producers,
director and lead star grossed P331.63M.)
It's also most likely not gonna overtake 'The Mistress', also from Star Cinema, which is currently this year's highest-grossing film with
P262.79M.
