It's the same thing that happened in Miss World 2012 pageant last August when Miss China won the title in his homeland.

Two powerful countries in Asia, Japan and China have proven their supremacy in two major pageants this year.

But in all fairness to Japan, they've been hosting Miss International for many years and its candidates have landed in the semis 19 times in 20 years, but this is only the first time that Miss Japan won the title.

In fact, Japan is only the 3rd Asian country to win Miss International. The other 2 are Philippines and Lebanon.

Check out below the winners and official results of Miss International 2012:

It's already the 8th consecutive time that Venezuela landed to the semis of Miss International, while it's also the Philippines' 5th and Brazil's 2nd consecutive year.

Biggest "misses" for me probably are the candidates from Spain and Poland, while the biggest surprise of the evening is no longer on who were the undeserving semi-finalists, but probably, it's Japan being crowned Miss International 2012. - www.mykiru.ph
