Derek Ramsay ban in ABS-CBN confirmed by Anne Curtis

Derek Ramsay is indeed "banned" from being shown nor mentioned in his former network, ABS-CBN.

As reported on PEP today, Anne Curtis revealed at the presscon of her movie "A Secret Affair" last night that she was indeed given a directive by ABS-CBN not to mention Derek Ramsay's name while promoting the movie, which happens to be a solo production of Viva Films.

The reigning Box Office Queen actually just answered to a question from the press if it's true that she's not allowed to mention Derek while promoting the movie on "It's Showtime". She said that she was frustrated at first, but she respects her network's decision. (She should've refused to comment on the issue I guess.)

In "A Secret Affair", Anne Curtis teams up once again with Derek Ramsay after their record-breaking 2011 movie "No Other Woman" which unlike the new movie was a co-production of Viva with ABS-CBN's Star Cinema and Derek was still very much a Kapamilya then.

I was able to watch "It's Showtime" yesterday and I heard Anne Curtis promoting her movie, but she didn't mention Derek.

Here's what she said: "Manood po kayo ng 'A Secret Affair'. Alam nyo na po kung sino leading man ko dyan. Kasama rin po namin si Andi Eigenmann."

Anne mentioned fellow Kapamilya Andi Eigenmann but not his leading man Derek Ramsay, who's now under Kapatid Network (TV5).

Even before the presscon, Anne has openly talked about the said ABS-CBN's restriction over the movie promo in the network. Twitter user @viperNOswiping asked, "Bkit ndi nababanggit ni @annecurtissmith si Derek Ramsay?? Bawal ba? #JustAsking."

Anne replied to her follower's tweet (something she rarely does in her busy sked, especially to an ordinary follower), "@viperNOswiping unfortunately yes, Ayaw ng abs :("

If you have noticed, Derek is also not being shown in the trailer of the movie on ABS-CBN during daytime til primetime, and I only caught a trailer with Derek in it was at late night: just like at midnight Monday right after 'XXX' and tonight, during 'Bandila' (while most of its viewers are already asleep).

Even on TV Patrol's newscast earlier about the presscon, no report nor mention about Derek but there were two separate reports about their talents Anne and Andi, without a single mention of their leading man.

Obviously, ABS-CBN is still hurting (or bitter?) over Derek's sudden transfer to TV5 early this year, but in all fairness to the network, they're probably just doing a "business" thing.

This is not the first time that it happened. I remember during MMFF 2011, whenever Regal's Shake, Rattle & Roll 13 was being promoted on ABS-CBN, only Kapamilya stars of the movie are being mentioned during the promo, which I think was just fair to give exposure to their own talents.

That's actually what Star Cinema said when they removed Derek Ramsay from 'The Mistress', that they have to prioritize own talents, so they picked John Lloyd Cruz to replace Derek as Bea Alonzo's lover in the movie. (even Derek already started shooting for the film)

At the presscon of his new movie, Derek said that he's hurt over ABS-CBN's directive to Anne. "I'm hurt because I gave 200 percent when I'm working there."
