Typhoon Melor 2015: Bagyong Nona makes landfall, whole Bicol under Signal No. 3

Typhoon Melor locally named as "NONA", according to PAGASA's update, has already made landfall this afternoon over Sorsogon, one of the 6 provinces in the Bicol Region, but it's still posing threats to other areas, where it's going to pass over tonight as it moves westward towards Burias Island at 17kph.

As of 5PM today, December 14, 2015, Typhoon "Nona" was located over Irosin, Sorsogon with coordinates 12.7 N, 124.0 E.

It has a maximum sustained winds of 150kph near the center, with gustiness of up to 185kph.

All provinces in Bicol are now under Public Storm Signal #3, as well as in Northern Samar and three Region 4 provinces Marinduque, Romblon and Southern Quezon. Please see photo below for areas under #2 and #3. Metro Manila is now under PSWS #1.

Meanwhile, class suspension tomorrow, December 15, has already been announced for all levels in the provinces of Batangas, Laguna, Masbate, Oriental Mindoro and Catbalogan City, and for preschool to highschool in Catanduanes and Quezon Province, according to DepEd.
