Ariadna Gutierrez (Miss Colombia) finally accepts defeat, Ms. Peru's IG post goes viral

Ariadna Gutierrez finally has realized the best thing to do after being crowned as the wrong Miss Universe 2015 winner - and that is to stop claiming she's the winner, graciously accept defeat and move on with her life as she faces more opportunities that await her.

On Instagram this morning, Miss Colombia posted a lengthy statement first in her language then later translated it into English stating that she has bravely survived the storm. She cherishes that experience of being a Miss Universe titleholder for a couple of minutes, and is congratulating the Philippines for its new Miss Universe.

@gutierrezary: "After the storm comes the calm. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent messages of support and strength. Every one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world. Your destiny is written for you. And my destiny was this. I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes... Today because of that COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world. I also want to congratulate the Philippines for their new Miss Universe 🙏🏼. The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible. Life continues and in the future we will find out why things happen the way they happen. Thank you all for your LOVE SUPPORT and KINDNESS. ❤️"

But wait, did she actually congratulate Pia? I think she congratulated our country, but it would have been sweeter if she directly referred to Pia, who was also a victim, just like her. That could mean something if she can't even mention the Philippines with a Miss before it. But I appreciate her humility now. I admire that braveness she's showing, and I thank her for congratulating the whole country.

It was the best thing to do, especially after this video becomes the latest to catch netizens' attention and it could further fire up the controversy.

Meanwhile, as Miss Colombia accepts defeat, Miss Peru Laura Spoya is now the subject of negative tweets and FB comments because of this viral photo that she posted in her Instagram account, and it says there that "Colombia still a winner" and that she's #therealqueen".

Thanks to Twitter user @lanvinray for quickly doing a screenshot because Miss Peru has already deleted it.

One of the favorites during the pageant, Miss Peru was among those 65 "clapper" candidates, along with Miss Germany, who said that none of them voted for Miss Philippines, and Miss Angola, now also controversial due to her "Pia, step back" line in a viral video.

Meanwhile, Misses USA, Bulgaria, Myanmar and more are getting much admiration after being so supportive to Miss Philippines. - Mykiru.ph
