The winners in the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2014) have been announced during the festival's Awards Night or Gabi ng Parangal held earlier tonight at the PICC, and airing now on ABS-CBN.

It was hosted by Edu Manzano and Kris Aquino, star of 'Feng Shui 2', one of the 8 official entries this year. Manzano replaced 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin' star Vice Ganda, who's mourning the death of his lolo Gonzalo.

Philippians Productions' 'Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo', starring Robin Padilla in the title role, was the biggest winner, having won a total of 8 awards, including Best Festival Picture. Last year's Best Picture winner '10,000 Hours' also starred Robin Padilla, who won Best Actor for that movie.

However, not like '10,000 Hours', 'Bonifacio' failed to win any of the acting categories. Padilla lost to Derek Ramsay in the Best Actor race. Ramsay won for 'English Only, Please', which also took home 6 other honors, including 2nd Best Festival Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for Jennylyn Mercado.

'Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2' on one hand won 6 awards, while 'My Big Bossing' nabbed just 1, Best Child Performer for Ryzza Mae Dizon, her 2nd consecutive year already to win this award.

The rest of the official entries, particularly those box office winners, won nothing. (MMFF 2014 Box Office Ranking)
