Kathryn Bernardo - Daniel Padilla movie 'She's Dating The Gangster' hits P130-million gross

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's latest movie 'She's Dating The Gangster', which opened last July 16, already has P130-million gross in less than a week in theaters.

Definitely, the KathNiel loveteam is becoming one of the most successful teen loveteams ever in the Philippines with their winning streak in the box-office.

Last December, they headlined the MMFF entry 'Pagpag' which ultimately
grossed P200M. And now, their new movie 'She's Dating The Gangster' is most likely to exceed that, with its latest gross earnings of P130M, according to Bandila's report earlier.

It's already the 4th highest-grossing Pinoy film this 2014, and will eventually rank 3rd, the moment it surpasses last May's 'Maybe This Time', which earned P135M.

'SDTG', a movie adapted from a best-selling book, already had a strong start, earning P15M on opening day, despite the typhoon ('Glenda'). It picked up more in its next days of showing (even if there was a new typhoon ('Henry'), and crossed P100M in just 5 days. Exact 5-day earnings is P114.8M, according to Box Office Mojo.

Now, SDTG is already the 6th Filipino movie to hit P100M this year. Previously hitting that mark were 'Bride For Rent', 'Starting Over Again', 'Diary Ng Panget The Movie', 'Da Possessed' and 'Maybe This Time'. Except for Diary Ng Panget, all these movies I mentioned are under Star Cinema.

And it's only July, the 7th month of the year. Philippine box office will surely have a record number of movies joining the club for the year 2014. Expect more than ten (10) P100M-earning movies this year, including three (3) MMFF 2014 entries this December. - Mykiru.ph
