Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are now engaged!

Dingdong Dantes' wedding proposal to Marian Rivera happened during the August 9 episode of 'Marian' on GMA 7, when Dingdong proposed live to a visibly surprised Marian who was having her grand birthday celebration in the show.

Many DongYan fans actually saw that coming when it was announced days before that Dingdong will be guesting in Marian's birthday celebration
in her dance show.

And so it happened, still leaving many viewers surprised by the live TV proposal which immediately trended on Twitter as netizens posted congratulatory tweets for the couple.

I actually also got teary-eyed while watching the proposal. Not the
sweetest marriage proposal by a celebrity this year (JC Intal's
proposal to Bianca Gonzalez at the airport
last March is so far the sweetest and a well-thought-out one) but Dingdong's proposal could be the sweetest among recent proposals we've seen on live national TV.

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera wedding is prob'ly now the most anticipated celebrity wedding, and could be the biggest, grandest and most talked-about. The last time we had so much "craze" over a wedding
was the Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto wedding in January of 2011.

A well-loved couple, Dong and Yan have been boyfriend-girlfriend for 6 years now.

Dong's previous relationships were with Antoinette Taus and Karylle (who already got married with Yael Yuzon last March), while Marian went steady with Ervic Vejandre for 7 years before becoming Dong's gf. - Mykiru.ph
