39th NAACP Image Awards 2008 winners


Pop/R&B singer Chris Brown wins Best Male Artist in the 2008 NAACP Image Awards.

The 39th Annual NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Image Awards 2008 was successfully held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

NAACP Image Awards honors outstanding achievement by people of color in different categories such as television, motion picture, writing, directing, recording and literature.

Big winners were the movie The Great Debaters snatching most of the awards in the Motion Picture category and singer Alicia Keys in the music category.

The NCAAP Vanguard Awards was presented to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, who earlier expressed that Beyonce gave no respect to her when the R&B singer introduced Queen of Rock and Roll Tina Turner as the Queen of Soul during the 50th Grammy Awards.
