High School Musical Fever

The song You are the Music in Me by the High School Musical 2 cast Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens is currently at #11 in the Philippines' Myx Hit Chart. The song just comes next to another HSM song, What Time is it, which is in the 10th spot.

In the Pop 100 songs this week, You are the Music in Me is at #28 on its 2nd week on the chart. Other than that, it's also at #22 in the Hot Canadian Digital Singles chart, #31 at the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 at the Hot Digital Tracks. The song is currently on its 2nd week on those hit charts.

The album High School Musical 2 which includes You are the Music in Me is #1 album in the Billboard 200 for 2 consecutive weeks already. The album debuted in the countdown just two weeks ago. That means, for its 1st week, it has already reached the top spot. Truly amazing.

The hit album is also #1 in the Billboard Comprehensive Albums chart, Top Digital Albums, Top Internet Albums.

Very fresh in the countdown, expect You are the Music in Me and other High School Musical songs to climb higher in the coming weeks.

MSNBC reported last August 31, 2007 that the High School Musical might come to India and to the Philippines. They're currently in London now, and these two Asian countries are possibly their next targets.

Well, they should really come to the Philippines, especially that Vanessa Anne Hudgens is partly Filipino. Her mother's maiden name is Gina Guangco. In an interview with TeenHollywood last year, Vanessa was quoted saying, "Gosh, I'm everything. Pretty much I'm Filipino and Caucasian but within that, I'm Spain Spanish, Chinese, American Indian, Irish." And her response on the statement that there aren't a lot of Filipino actors in Hollywood... she said, "I'm here to represent for my Pinoles!"
