The 40th Gawad Urian 2017 winners have just been announced during the awards ceremony held at the ABS-CBN Studio 10, and was aired live via Cinema One.

Presented by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino, Cinema One and the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the 40th Gawad Urian awards night was hosted by Billy Crawford, Jodi Sta. Maria and Butch Francisco, featuring performances by Lea Salonga, Jona, Rey Valera and Gary V.

I have posted below the list of 40th Gawad Urian 2017 winners (by movies), with 'Women of the Weeping River' as the biggest winner, taking home a total of 6 awards including Best Picture. All acting awardees are first-time Urian winners.

Christian Bables, pictured crying and being congratulated by last year's Best Actor John Lloyd Cruz, is this year's Best Supporting Actor, while Paolo Ballesteros, who went to the event as Kim Kardashian, is the Best Actor. Both won for 'Die Beautiful'. Bables and Cruz are now co-stars in the upcoming film 'Finally Found Someone' (photos via @pushalerts and CinemaOne)
