Miss International 2014 winner has just been crowned, and she is Miss Puerto Rico Valerie Hernandez. Obviously, Miss Philippines Bianca Guidotti failed to score a back-to-back Miss International 2013 & 2014 victory for our country.
Based on the live Miss International 2014 results of the finale straight from Japan, Puerto Rico won over 72 other candidates. Surprisingly, the Top 10 semi-finalists did not include the Philippines' Bianca Guidotti.
Guidotti is equally beautiful, charming and witty as Bea Rose Santiago, the outgoing Miss International winner from the Philippines. But she is not as lucky.
As announced, the Top 10 were:
Argentina, Josefina José Herrero
Brazil, Deise Benício
Colombia, Zuleika Suárez
Finland, Milla Romppanen
Indonesia, Elfin Rappa
Mexico, Vianey Vázquez
Panama, Aileen Bernal
Puerto Rico, Valerie Hernandez
Thailand, Punika Kulsoontornrut
United Kingdom, Victoria Tooby
Even favorites like the Netherlands and Venezuela also didn't make the Top 10 cut, as well as the host candidate herself, Miss Japan (although it's just fine 'coz she's not a favorite, and many think she's not facially deserving to be there.)
5 of the Top 10 are from the Americas, only 2 are from Asia and no one from Africa. They should have made it Top 15 instead, and probably the Philippines could have made it, at least.
And after the Q&A round, the Top 5 winners were revealed:
