44th Box Office Entertainment Awards 2013 (Guillermo Mendoza Awards for 2012) Winners List

The 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards (2013) winners have been announced today by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (GMMSF).

Vice Ganda is named Phenomenal Box-Office Star again, but this time, he shares title with Ai-Ai delas Alas and Kris Aquino for their movie "Sisterakas", which earned P342M at the MMFF 2012 to become the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

Last year, Vice Ganda was also the Phenomenal Box Office Star for the 2011 movie "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin" which earned P331.61M and that time was the all-time highest-grossing local film.

Now I get it. The Phenomenal Box Office Star award, which only started to be given last year, is probably for those whose movie is able to set new box-office record or become the new highest-grossing film.

Meanwhile, the 2012 Box Office King
and Queen are John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, whose movie "The Mistress" was the 2nd highest-grossing film last year with P262.82M earnings.

It's John Lloyd Cruz's 4th time already to be Box Office King, 3 years after he was last named as such. He consecutively held the title in 2007, 2008, 2009.

Bea Alonzo, on one hand, is Box Office Queen for the 2nd time. She held the title in 2007, for her and John Lloyd's movie "One More Chance".

Other awardees include Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban, stars of MMFF 2012 entry "One More Try", as Film Actor and Actresses of the Year.

It's the 2nd consecutive year that Angel won as Film Actress of the Year. She won last year for "In The Name Of Love".

2011 Box Office Queen Anne Curtis is being honored again this year, not as an actress though, but as a singer. Last year, she was Most Popular Novelty Singer and for this year, she is the Female Concert Performer of the Year.
