SCORERS: Castro - 26 pts, Blatche - 18 pts, Romeo - 15 pts, Abueva - 13 pts, Norwood - 5 pts, Ocampo - 5 pts, Hontiveros - 3 pts, Taulava - 2 pts

Watch highlights from the games in these FIBA videos:

Gilas Pilipinas defeating Iran, the team that prevented the former from capturing the FIBA Asia Championship 2013 as well as in the William Jones Cup 2015 earlier this month, is a good sign going forward in the next round, the Quarterfinals, especially after the Philippine team also won vs India, their last opponent in the 2nd Round. As the 1st seed of Group E, they have avoided the 2 strongest teams in the other group, and will now be playing against the 4th seed, Lebanon.

After the FIBA Asia 2015 Second Round, Philippines finished on top of team standings for Group E, while Iran took 2nd (though both have an identical record of 3 wins, 1 loss, but head-to-head comparison breaks the tie).

GROUP E:
1. Philippines 4-1 (1-0) - advanced
2. Iran 4-1 (0-1) - advanced
3. Japan 3-2 - advanced
4. India 2-3 (1-0) - advanced
5. Palestine 2-3 (0-1) - eliminated
6. Hong Kong 0-4 - eliminated

So far, the host team, China, is the only undefeated team at FIBA Asia 2015.

GROUP F:
1. China 5-0 - advanced
2. Qatar 3-2 (1-0) - advanced
3. South Korea 3-2 (0-1) - advanced
4. Lebanon 2-3 (1-0) - advanced
5. Jordan 2-3 (0-1) - eliminated
6. Kazakhstan 0-5 - eliminated
