"Kuya Germs" German Moreno died just this morning. He was 82 (October 4, 1933-January 8, 2016).

Before this heartbreaking news, there was much confusion because Kuya Germs, who was rushed to the hospital yesterday reportedly due to a heart attack, was reported as dead already according to tweets by GMA News and actor Jhake Vargas even though he's still alive at that time they made the initial announcement.

GMA News tweeted this, but deleted 30 minutes later

Actress Gina Alajar then appealed to everyone to continue praying for Kuya Germs because he's still alive, fighting for his life at the hospital.

Both GMA News and Jhake Vargas apologized for the wrong tweet.

@gmanews: "UPDATE: Kuya Germs is still in critical condition at St. Luke's, contrary to our earlier post. We regret any confusion it might have caused."

@ImJakeVargas: "Sorry nadala lang po ako ng emesyon ko. God bless po sa lahat."

However, two hours later, Kuya Germs was indeed dead, GMA News has reported.

@gmanews: "JUST IN: German "Kuya Germs" Moreno has died at 3:20 AM, his nephew John Nite confirms."

The Master Showman last hosted the variety show 'Walang Tulugan', and was last seen on 'Sunday PinaSaya' just last Sunday, both on GMA 7. He had a number of successful TV shows during the 80s and 90s, such as 'That's Entertainment' and 'GMA Supershow'.

May you rest in peace po Kuya Germs.
