Tropical Storm Auring leaves the Philippines

Tropical Storm Auring (International Name: Sonamu) is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to PAGASA's 5PM weather update.

"Auring" is now located at 460 km Southwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan, with maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

The said tropical storm, the first to hit the country this 2013, was first spotted as a Low Pressure Area early morning yesterday, January 3, and developed into a tropical depression later in the morning. Then, it intensified into a Tropical Storm last night, with Signal #2 raised in Southern Palawan and Signal #1 in the rest of Palawan.

As of this afternoon, all Public Storm Warning Signals have already been lowered.

After Auring, expect these names of tropical cyclones in the Philippines for 2013:
