The whole Kpop world is mourning the death of Kim Jonghyun, one of the members of SHINee, a 9-year-old K-pop group which became popular not just in Korea, but also around the globe, such as here in the Philippines.

He was this guy pictured with 2NE1's Dara (Sandara Park) back in November of 2015.

Jonghyun was found unconscious earlier today, December 18, at his apartment in Seoul, South Korea. He was rushed to the hospital, and there, he was declared dead on arrival, according to his talent agency SM Entertainment in its official statement.
"This is SM Entertainment.

We are sorry to be the bringer of such tragic, heart-breaking news.

On December 18th, SHINee's Jonghyun left us very suddenly.

He was discovered unconscious at a residence in Chungdam-Dong, Seoul and was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.

Our sadness cannot compare to the pain of his family, who had to say goodbye to a son and a brother. But we have spent a long time with him, and SHINee members and SM Entertainment staff are all in deep mourning and shock.

Jonghyun loved music more than anybody else and he was an artist who did the best to perform his absolute best on stage.

It breaks our heart to have to bring this news to fans who loved Jonghyun so much.

Please refrain from reporting on rumors and guesswork so the family of the deceased can honor him in peace.

As per the wish of the family, the funeral will be held quietly with his relatives and company colleagues.

Once again, we show our deepest condolences to Jonghyun on his last journey."

SM Entertainment did not reveal the cause of Jonghyun's death, but earlier reports, such as that one from Korea Herald, revealed he died in possible suicide (carbon monoxide poisoning).

Among those Korean celebs who expressed their grief in social media following the news about Jonghyun's death include singer Jay Park, CNBLUE lead vocalist Lee Jong-hyun and Alexander Lee, who's now a teleserye star here in the Philippines (the male lead in 'My Korean Jagiya' on GMA 7).

수고했어. 정말 고생했어. 안녕.

Even Filipino model-actor Tony Labrusca and Thai singer Gam Wichayanee Pearklin also reacted to the sad news.

Gone too soon. Kim Jong-hyun was only 27 years old. (April 8, 1990 - December 18, 2017).

Sending all my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
