Olga Alava (photo) is 23 years old (born on a Valentine's Day), stands 5'8" and a graduate of BA in International Studies.

It's the first time ever that Ecuador won the Miss Earth title and already it's second "grand slam pageant title" this 2011.

Last November 6 (in only less than a month ago), Ecuadorian Maria Fernanda Cornejo won the Miss International 2011 title, also a first for Ecuador.

Here's the official results of the Miss Earth 2011 pageant:

(From L-R): Philippines (Miss Water), Ecuador (Miss Earth), Brazil (Miss Air), Venezuela (Miss Water)

Miss Earth 2011: Ecuador, Olga Alava
Miss Air 2011: Brazil, Drielly Bennettone
Miss Water 2011: Philippines, Athena Mae Imperial
Miss Fire 2011: Venezuela, Caroline Medina

Top 8 Finalists:
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandra Kovacevic
Crimea, Nina Astrakhantseva
Mexico, Casandra Becerra
Zimbabwe, Thandi Muringa

Top 16 Semi-Finalists:
Chinese Taipei, Cherry Liu
Japan, Tomoko Maeda
Paraguay, Nicole Huber
Portugal, Susana Nogueira
Slovenia, Rebecca Kim Lekše

Probably the huge "surprises" in the Top 16 were Misses Zimbabwe and Portugal, while the big "misses" or the heavy faves who failed to enter the semis were the candidates from Czech Republic, India and Puerto Rico.
