Vice Ganda 's "rape joke" about Jessica Soho drew the ire of Jessica Soho herself as well as her fellow broadcast journalists and reporters in the Kapuso Station (GMA 7).

The joke about Jessica Soho as a boldstar doing a rape scene was made by Vice Ganda during her May 17 concert at the Araneta Coliseum, dubbed "I-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko sa Araneta".

Jessica Soho, who's one of the most awarded and most respected broadcast journalists in the country, has already reacted to Vice Ganda's joke, which she called as a "cruel joke".

As posted at GMA News Online this afternoon, Jessica Soho said that rape is not a joke and shouldn't be used in comedy.

"Rape is not a joke and should never be material for a comedy concert. I thank all those who shared my hurt and expressed their support, but this should not be about me but about rape victims who suffer tremendously from this terrible crime. The horrors they go through are unspeakable and should never be taken lightly, especially by way of a cruel joke," said Jessica Soho, GMA 7's Vice President for News and Public Affairs and host of the top-rating Sunday magazine program "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho".

And the joke has become an issue of network war (Kapuso reporters vs a Kapamilya personality) when GMA news anchor Arnold Clavio and other Kapuso reporters sided with Jessica Soho and defended her against Vice Ganda.

Arnold Clavio, who was once in Vice Ganda's position before when he drew flak for his controversial remarks against the Philippine Azkals, has criticized Vice Ganda in his radio talk show "One on One with Igan" at DZBB.

And other GMA reporters also aired their criticisms against Vice Ganda via Twitter:

Bam Alegre (@BamAlegre): "Vice Ganda, sana di mo maranasan maging rape victim. Saglit mong patawa sa concert, buong buhay nilang trauma. @vicegandako @jiggymanicad"

Jiggy Manicad @jiggymanicad): "Para kay Vice Ganda, personal ko ito. Hindi joke ang salitang "rape." Pakiretweet po hanggang makaabot sa kanya.

maki pulido (@makipulido): "Vice ganda should realize that rape is not a joke. That rape is a form of violence. Pls RT hanggang umabot sa kanya."

Mark Zambrano (@markzambrano): "Rape is never funny and it shouldn't ever be used in comedy. You could've done better Vice Ganda. That joke was NOT funny."

Meanwhile, GMA's senior news producer and movie director Cesar Apolinario also in his Facebook account just this evening a message or open letter to Vice Ganda:

"Dear Vice Ganda,

Rape is a Heinous sickening crime & A rape joke is rude, a product of a sick mind. ANG JOKE DAPAT NAKAKATUWA, DI NAKAKASAKIT!"
