Miss Universe 2017 Q and A Portion: Miss France's interpreter gave wrong translation?

Miss France Iris Mittenaere has just been crowned Miss Universe 2016 / 2017 in Manila, Philippines, winning over 85 other contestants. Iris becomes the 2nd from France to win Miss Universe, next to Christiane Martel 63 years ago.

At the Final 3 Q and A portion, the common question was: "Name something over the course of your life that you failed at, and tell us what you learned from that experience."

For me, only Miss France answered it right, despite the interpreter not giving accurate translation to her answer. According to Anne Curtis' fiancé, who is half-French and can speak French, there was something wrong in the translation, and so he posted a better and more accurate one via Twitter.

Now that sounds really more impressive than the one provided by Miss France's interpreter.

Even Erwan's sister, actress Solenn Heussaff, echoed that. According to her, Miss France won on her own, and not because of the translation.

@solennheussaff: "Mas maganda sagot ni miss France without the interpreter. So she won on her own. Not because of the translation."

Yeah, she's right. The over-all impression mattered a lot, (that's why the judges were given one last look with the Final 3 after Q&A), and they certainly saw in her the qualities of a Miss Universe.

It's one perfect birthday for the French stunner who turned 24 just last Wednesday, January 25th. She stands 5'8" and now on her 5th Year as Dental Surgery student.

The first European woman to win Miss Universe within the last 15 years, Miss France is a refreshing and deserving titleholder. In fact, she's one of my 6 crown-worthy candidates. [VIEW: Miss Universe 2016 Winner and Results Predictions]
