Kinda shocking, 'coz his death came just over 2 months after 'The Legal Wife' aired its finale.

As revealed to the public by his family, Mark Gil (whose real name is Ralph Joseph Eigenmann) already knew he has cancer since 2012, and it's only last June that it became terminal. Meaning, he already had that condition while he was working for the hit serye 'The Legal Wife', where he played Tatay Dante, biological father of Nicole (played by Maja) and adoptive father of Monica (portrayed by Angel).

Probably, it was Mark's most memorable work in television. Remember his controversial scene with Angel during the "royal rumble"? Unforgettable!

2 days have passed already since Mark Gil died, Angel who also worked with him in 'Imortal' hasn't reacted yet publicly about her former co-star's sudden passing. Her last tweet and Instagram post were about a week already.

She's not required to make a reaction, but she is expected to do so, maybe on Friday when she becomes a guest co-host once again on 'It's Showtime' for 10 episodes this month.

Maja, on one hand, already reacted to his death, both in a TV
interview and on social media. "my daddy dante i will miss you," she said on Instagram.

From the famous Eigenmann clan, Mark Gil was the son of Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil (both are still alive) and brother of Michael de Mesa and Cherie Gil.

He had 6 children, 4 of them are also actors: Gabby and Ira (with Irene Celebre), Timmy aka Sid Lucero and Maxine (with Bing Pimentel), Andi Eigenmann (with Jaclyn Jose) and Stephanie (with Maricar Jacinto).

Mark Gil appeared in over a hundred movies and around 30 TV series. His breakthrough movie was the Mike De Leon-directed 'Batch '81' in 1982 and later in his career, he won 1 FAMAS award (Best Supporting Actor for ' Magnifico') and 2 URIAN awards (Best Actor for 'Rotonda' and Best Supp. Actor for 'Palipat-lipat, Papalit-palit').

He's supposed to turn 53 years old on September 25. - Mykiru.ph
