Typhoon Glenda Update: 'Glenda' is going away, 'Henry' is coming

LATEST UPDATE: This morning, July 17, PAGASA has located 'Glenda' 380km West Southwest of Dagupan City, while a new Low Pressure Area (LPA) which may develop into a tropical storm and will be called 'Henry' is located 940km east of Northern Mindanao.

PREVIOUS UPDATE:Typhoon Glenda (international name: Rammasun) made landfall Tuesday evening, July 15, 2014, in Albay, as it headed towards Southern Luzon and Metro Manila. As of 1PM today, July 16, 'Glenda' is now located 64km West of Subic, Zambales.

In its weather bulletin issued at 11 this morning, July 16, PAGASA says that "GLENDA" has slightly weakened. It has a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gustiness of up to 170 kph, moving with speed of 25kph Northwest.

I'm currently back in my hometown here in CamSur, and we've experienced strong wind and heavy rains for 6 hours last night.

Typhoon Glenda passed over us here in the Rinconada area (such as Iriga, Baao, Bula) between 7 to 8PM, and it arrived in Naga City before 9PM.

As of Wednesday morning, it crossed Metro Manila before heading to Bataan.

Public Storm Warning Signal #3 is up in 10 areas, such as:
Rizal
Cavite
Metro Manila
Zambales
Tarlac
Pampanga
Bataan
Bulacan
Lubang Island
Pangasinan

It's Signal #2 in:
La Union
Benguet
Southern Aurora
Nueva Ecija
Nueva Vizcaya
Quezon
Laguna
Batangas
Northern parts of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro

while Signal #1 in the following areas:
Rest of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro
Rest of Aurora
Quirino
Ilocos Sur
Mountain Province
Ifugao
Camarines Norte

It really scares me that Typhoon Glenda is said to be as strong as the very destructive Yolanda last year. Even Kuya Kim Atienza mentioned about it yesterday on "It's Showtime".

I just hope that Typhoon Glenda won't be as strong as our faith in the Lord Almighty, and not as powerful as our prayer.

Let's continue to pray for everyone's safety, and that we be spared from any threats of Typhoon Glenda.

The Philippines doesn't another Yolanda. Please....go away Glenda!
