San Mig Coffee Mixers Grand Slam dream is still alive, as they're going to play in the 2014 PBA Governors' Cup Finals against Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters.

After 2 consecutive losses against the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters in their Best-of-5 semi-finals series, the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers bounced back last night and won Game 5, 93-87, to finally secured their slot in the PBA Governors' Cup 2014 Finals. Before Game 5, series tied at 2-2, as the Mixers previously won Games 1 and 2, while TNT won 3 & 4.

It's now the 4th straight PBA Finals appearance for San Mig Coffee Mixers, their 3rd for the 2013-2014 season.

They have won all their previous 3 appearances (2013 Governors' Cup, 2014 Philippine Cup, 2014 Commissioner's Cup) and if they win this 3rd conference of the 2014 season, the Governors' Cup, they'll be declared a PBA Grand Slam team, the first to achieve so in 17 years. The last Grand Slam team was the Alaska Milkmen in 1996.

So far, only 3 PBA teams achieved that status: Crispa in 1976 and 1983, San Miguel in 1989 and as mentioned, Alaska in 1996.

In his Instagram account (@jamesyap18), James Yap posted this picture of him with Marc Pingris and PJ Simon, which was taken right after their Game 5 against TNT, as he thanked God for playing again in the finals, and the fans for their continuous support.

jamesyap18: "Thank you, Lord for another chance to play in the finals again. Thank you also to all the San Mig fans for the never-ending support. #BigThree #labansanmig #sanmigsupercoffee #sanmigcoffeeplanet"
