Newly-crowned Miss World Philippines 2013 Megan Young is already buzzing this early as among the Miss World 2013 favorites.

After that moment she won Miss World Philippines 2013 last Sunday, Megan Young immediately landed on pageant fans' list of pre-arrival favorites for Miss World 2013.

And so far, Megan's toughest competitors for the crown could possibly be:

Miss Brazil Sancler Konzen,

Miss Ukraine Anna Zayachkivska

and Miss Spain
Elena Ibarbia.

Among Asian beauties, Miss Philippines' biggest rivals could be:

Miss India Navneet Dhillon

and Miss China PR Wei Wei Yu.

Other contestants who are also being considered at this point as Miss World 2013 pre-pageant favorites are (mostly European) the ladies from Kosovo (Antigona Sejdiu), Denmark (Malene Soreusen), Czech Republic (Lucie Kovandova), France (Marine Lorphelin), Japan (Michiko Tanaka), South Africa
(Marilyn Ramos), Albania (Ersela Kurt), Venezuela (Karen Soto) and Georgia (Tamar Shedania).

There's still 2 more weeks before the arrival of Miss World 2013 candidates in Indonesia, and more than a month before the pageant finals on Sep. 28. Over 130 contestants are expected to compete, but 10 countries, including powerhouse United States, are yet to crown or appoint their delegate.

List of pre-pageant favorites will definitely change once all national candidates have been selected, and will change even more once they arrive in Indonesia.

It's been a long time already since a Philippine rep emerged as a major favorite for Miss World the moment after she was crowned in the national pageant. That was during Carlene Aguilar's time in 2005.

She was a heavy favorite already starting from her crowning as Binibining Pilipinas World until the Miss World pageant took place in China. However, a Top 15 semi-final placement was the highest she could get.

Megan's got more "Miss World" aura than Carlene, so I hope she'll fare better.

It's the first time ever that Miss World will be held in Southeast Asia, and it would be great if the winner will also come from the region.

If she wins, Megan would not only be the first Miss World winner from the Philippines, but also the first from Southeast Asia.
