'It Takes A Man and A Woman' Box Office Opening Gross: P32.6-million

'It Takes A Man And A Woman' has set new box office records during its opening day, March 30, 2013 (Black Saturday).

The 3rd Sarah Geronimo - John Lloyd Cruz movie grossed P32.6-million in the box office, according to Star Cinema's ad-prom manager Mico Del Rosario via Twitter.

"It Takes A Man And A Woman" 's opening gross becomes the highest ever for a Black Saturday opening and for a non-MMFF movie.

Though it wasn't able to beat the opening gross of the all-time highest grossing local film 'Sisterakas&# (P39M), I'm convinced that 'It Takes A Man And A Woman' opening gross is the "real" highest for the simple reason that 'Sisterakas' was shown during MMFF and had higher ticket cost.

While 'Sisterakas' had 3 and more box office draws (Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai delas Alas plus Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), 'It Takes A Man And A Woman' on one hand has only Sarah and John Lloyd.

The 2 movies' 1st day of showing were both a holiday but of big difference: Christmas Day vs Black Saturday. Obviously, Christmas Day has more people going to the malls and cinemas than on a Black Saturday, when most people are either at home or still on out of town vacation.

Can you imagine if 'It Takes A Man And A Woman' was shown as an MMFF entry? It could earn over P40M for sure on opening day.

As of 5PM today, the movie reportedly has already earned over P50M, and it could earn a 3-day gross of over P100M.

My bold prediction: 'It Takes A Man And A Woman' will become the new highest grossing Filipino film of all time. - Mykiru.ph
