Kris Aquino has announced on Twitter last night that "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw", which is currently airing on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida, will be her last teleserye already. Is she gonna quit acting and would rather continue doing hosting?

The Kris TV host is actively responding to her followers on Twitter and has mentioned about "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" being her last teleserye. She said in one tweet that she's a better host than an actress, and though it's her dream to be an actress, she humbly admitted that her talent is not "in becoming a character", but just being her self.

krisaquino214: "@NuncaValderama I know i’m a better host than actress but I gave #KKI my best- thank u for the recognition."

krisaquino214: "Thanks but last na ang KKI. RT @DrGeorgeTan: @krisaquino214 youre indeed becoming a good actress ! ganda ng kki"

krisaquino214: "My last teleserye. RT @imyoursgeesp: @krisaquino214 wht do you mean po na last na ang KKI?"

Kris then later clarified that she's not retiring. She will still have "Kris TV" (which airs weekday mornings) and "Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4" (which premieres February 16), plus a new show coming up. "I’m not retiring, just prioritizing. It was my dream to become an actress- but my talent isn’t in becoming a character, but just being me. Kris Tv remains strong & is an excellent venue for us to connect, PGT4 will start Feb 16 already & they r so optimistic because it is fresh. There’s a new show in the horizon & I know u will enjoy that because u keep telling me u miss me in that format. Things do fall into place."

Oh I think Kris Aquino will return to hosting a game show after "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw".

Kris' decision to stop doing a soap might have been influenced by the fact that "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw", which also stars Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis, is not that successful in the ratings battle both nationwide and in Mega Manila, when compared to her previous soaps ("Hiram", "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo"). It's ratings are declining since it premiered January 21, 2013. (figures credit to PEP)

KANTAR MEDIA NATIONAL HOUSEHOLD RATINGS:
Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw (ABS-CBN) 23.6, 22.6, 23.3, 23.3, 21.6, 20.4, 17.9, 19.7
Temptation of Wife (GMA-7) 17.5, 17.3, 17.4, 18.5, 18.1, 19.3, 17.2, 17.6

AGB NIELSEN MEGA MANILA HOUSEHOLD RATINGS:
Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw (ABS-CBN) 21.1, 20.7, 21.4, 22.2, 19.3, 20.0, 18.6, 18.3, 18.5, 19.4, 19.2
Temptation of Wife (GMA-7) 26.1, 24.3, 26.5, 24.8, 25.7, 25.9, 25.5, 24.0, 25.7, 24.7

As you can see, its highest rating so far in the nationwide scope was the pilot episode with 23.6% and its most recent ratings are now in the "teen" level.

Maybe it will still be able to pick up as the story progresses. If not, it could suffer the same fate as "A Beautiful Affair" which lasted for only 3 months and preceded "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" on the same timeslot.

Before coming up with the decision, Kris has previously tweeted about her lunch meeting yesterday with ABS-CBN Channel 2 head Cory Vidanes.

"Honestly, I have a really great boss in Tita Cory Vidanes. Came from a lunch meeting & although I'd have loved happier news, she took time to explain & make me understand everything from a clear perspective. Sad but such is life & I'll just make the best of what is."

It looks like they talked about "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw". Possibly, Vidanes told Kris that the soap is ending in 2 months, and not gonna be extended. What do you think? - Mykiru.ph
