'D Kilabots Pogi Brothers Weh?!? impresses at Philippine box office

"'D Kilabots Pogi Brothers Weh?!?" is making an impressive run so far in the Philippine box office since it opened last November 28.

After 2 weeks, the Jose Manalo-Wally Bayola launching movie has already earned P32.26-million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, and is now the 15th highest-grossing local film this year.

The figure P32.6M may sound low for you, but for me, it's really impressive? Why?

It's because the movie has earned higher than highly-promoted movies shown earlier this 2012 and starred some of the biggest names in the industry.

"'D Kilabots Pogi Brothers Weh?!?" has already outgrossed movies like "Boy Pick-Up: The Movie" (P25.38M) with Ogie Alcasid in the title role and the disappointing "Of All The Things" (P22.43M) which starred former Box Office King and Queen Aga Muhlach and Regine Velasquez.

That's quite a big achievement for Jose and Wally's first movie where they play the lead stars, and not "sidekicks" to Bossing Vic Sotto. (Though in the upcoming MMFF 2012 entry "Si Agimat, Si Enteng at si Ako", the two are back in their usual roles.)

Meanwhile, Star Cinema's ensemble movie "24/7 In Love" is now the 8th highest-grossing Filipino film of 2012. Thanks to its 3-week gross earnings of P75.06-million, but definitely, it's not gonna reach P100-million, thus becoming the 1st John Lloyd Cruz movie (out of 10 movies he made since 2007) which failed to hit that mark. But did you know that it's already Piolo Pascual's highest-grossing film since 2007?

1. 24/7 In Love (2012) - P75.06M
2. Paano Kita Iibigin (2007) - P70.38M
3. Love Me Again (2009) - P66.89M
4. Every Breath U Take (2012) - P50.19M
