"Mara Clara" stars debut on Bench Summer 2011: Return To Temptation Catalog

The lead stars of "Mara Clara" made their debut on a Bench ad.

Kathryn Bernardo (Mara), Julia Montes (Clara), Albie Casiño (Christian) and John Manalo (Eris) together appear on Bench's Summer 2011: Return To Temptation Catalog, which can be found on Bench's official website.

The "Mara Clara" stars are Bench's newest endorsers and the one above is their first ever ad campaign for the said top clothing brand.

Does this make them as the hottest tween stars of today?

Knowing Bench, they usually get as endorsers those who they believe are "currently hot", just like the Kimerald, the Melason, Robi Domingo and Ejay Falcon right after they exited PBB house, Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal and the StarStruck V winners.

Aside from the Mara Clara stars, also making their debut on a Bench ad are the hot "Sabel" leading men: AJ Perez and Joseph Marco.

Joseph Marco took part already in the Bench Uncut Fashion Show held last July. AJ Perez, meanwhile, previously endorsed the clothing brand "Molecules" for quite a long time before being part of Bench.

Angelo Reyes shot himself, dead at 65 | Reyes' suicide falls on PNoy's 51st birthday

Angelo Reyes died in an apparent suicide today, February 8, 2011.

A retired AFP Chief-of-Staff and former Defense Secretary, Angelo Reyes suffered gun shot wound in his chest which according to the police was a suicide 'coz there were no signs of a foul play.

Sec. Angelo Reyes' suicide happened while visiting the grave of his mother, Purificacion Reyes, at the Loyola Memorial Park. He was rushed to Quirino Memorial Medical Center in QC at around 7:45 AM and the doctors tried to revive him, but at 8:32 AM, Reyes was officially declared dead, as reported this morning on ABS-CBN's News Patrol.

Sec. Reyes was reportedly reading a book before he killed himself. According to a report from DZBB, he was reading the book "Trump: The Art of the Deal" by Donald Trump and Tony Schwartz.

He was 65 years old (March 17, 1945-February 8, 2011), and is survived by his wife Teresita and 5 sons.

Sec. Angelo served as Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff from 2000 to 2001, and was later appointed as Secretary in 4 Departments under the Arroyo administration.

He was Secretary of National Defense from 2001 to 2003, of DILG from 2004 to 2006, then of DENR a year after and lastly, as Department of Energy Secretary in 2007-2010.

Just recently, Reyes was linked to an AFP Fund Scandal where he allegedly received a "pabaon" of P50M when he retired as AFP Chief.

Today, the date of Sec. Angelo Reyes' death, happens to be the 51st birthday of Pres. Noynoy Aquino.

Even Angelica Panganiban herself is wondering why.

On The Buzz last Sunday, Angelica Panganiban admitted that she's already aware of the scandal picture long ago but just recently, it's haunting her again when it was circulating and being sent to Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, to her handler and even to friends of her bf Derek Ramsay.

The scandal picture shows a woman who looks like Angelica Panganiban, fixing her bra and with breasts exposed.

I already blogged about the scandalous photo in June 2010 during the time Angelica and Derek were vacationing in South Africa.

Eight months after, Angelica is facing the issue, denying that she's the woman in the picture. "Hindi ako 'yun. Ang ganda kaya ng body ko. At tsaka baligtad sya mag-bra. Flexible kaya ako mag-bra, helloow!" Angelica said during a live interview on The Buzz.

Angelica is already suspecting someone she knows as the one responsible for spreading the scandal photo.

Melai Cantiveros loves to be on top of his boyfriend Jason Francisco.

According to @GlobalMelasons on Twitter, the first photo was taken while on the set of "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Mana Po" topbilled by Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco.

But Jason, a man that he is, of course also loves to be on top of Melai on these pictures, which are actually scenes from "PHR: Mana Po".

Maricar Reyes has found a new 'Hayden Kho' in the person of Richard Poon

Maricar Reyes really likes chinito guys, doesn't she?

From the cutie Chinito Hayden Kho Jr, Maricar Reyes has found a new love in the person of romantic crooner and ASAP Sessionistas member Richard Poon, also a Chinese cutie.

It was so long ago when Hayden and Maricar had a serious relationship. But the video scandals which featured the two and were filmed possibly during their med-school were leaked online in 2009, and since then, Maricar Reyes has been most of the time associated with the name Hayden Kho Jr.

It's unknown who Maricar's boyfriends were after Hayden Kho but she was romantically linked to TV Host/actor Luis Manzano and allegedly caused the break-up of Luis and Maricar's "Imortal" co-star Angel Locsin in 2009. But it's unconfirmed until now.

But with Maricar now getting serious with Richard, atleast, it would finally disassociate Maricar with Hayden and Luis.

There's no official confirmation yet from Maricar and Richard as to what's the real score between them but with Maricar being spotted holding hands with Richard last Saturday in Araneta is already a confirmation.

Maricar attended the concert of Richard along with the other ASAP Sessionistas and the two went home together, HOLDING HANDS, as shown on the video report of TV Patrol Weekend yesterday. Oh sweet!

Richard started pursuing Maricar in December 2009 when she starred in his music video for "You and I" (Photo).

Sam Milby confirmed as another host of "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!", ABS-CBN's new noontime show

Sam Milby is also hosting ABS-CBN's newest noontime show "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" as confirmed by Toni Gonzaga today on ASAP Rocks.

Toni, who's also one of the hosts, has announced that Sam Milby is also joining them in the show.

I'm pretty sure the SamTinners, fans of Sam and Toni, are celebrating now that the two will be hosting together in the show. They've been missing their tandem for so long now.

I was actually one of those who were sad when Sam wasn't officially announced as host last Friday after he was rumored as among the show's hosts.

Sam was also not part of the cast pictorial, which only had 8 hosts: Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Melai Cantiveros, Bianca Manalo, Bentong and Jobert Austria.

Expect now that Sam and Toni will have their own segment or moments in "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" which begins airing on February 12, 2011.

Actually, before Toni confirmed Sam as host on ASAP, the show's director, Willy Cuevas, already announced it on Twitter last night and even did mention about the names of 2 of its segments: Hole-log and Kitang-kits.

Anne Curtis in another endorsement rivalry, this time with Heart Evangelista

Anne Curtis continues to shine brighter this 2011 with a new movie, a new teleserye and new endorsements.

Luis Manzano and Anne Curtis pair up on Viva Films' "Who's That Girl?" which will be shown on March 2, 2011.

Then Anne is leading the cast of ABS-CBN's "Green Rose", a remake of a Koreanovela and playing leading men to Anne are Jericho Rosales and Jake Cuenca.

"Green Rose" will already premiere this Valentine's Day, February 14, on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida.

One of the well-liked personalities in showbiz with huge followings, it's not surprising that Anne has lots of endorsements.

Just recently, Anne's two new TVCs have been airing on our TV screens and these are the Olay Natural White TVC and the Palmolive Soap ad in addition to her L'Oreal Shampoo commercial which is also airing at times.

But wait a minute, Olay Natural White and Palmolive Soap were previously endorsed by Heart Evangelista right?

Did Anne replace Heart (who happens to be her former co-star in "Hiram") in those two endorsements or she just joined Heart in endorsing the products?

It seems Anne will be facing another "endorsement rivalry" issue after she allegedly replaced Marian Rivera as endorser of SMDC Holdings.

Anne denied in an interview that she replaced Marian in the said endorsement.

While Anne may also appear to be succeeding (and not replacing) Heart in those 2 endorsements, it just goes to show that the pretty "Showtime" host is a sought-after endorser and is definitely now among the top celebrity endorsers in the country.

Sam Concepcion is havin' a great 2011 | Sam in Jollibee TVC, will join Taylor Swift's Asian Tour, topbills "Good Vibes", what else is next?

Sam Concepcion is kicking off the year 2011 so right with lots of good things coming his way.

First off, last January, Sam Concepcion's major commercial ad has started airing on TV where Sam leads the so-called "Yumbassadors". The said TVC of Sam is for the fast-food brand
Jollibee and is themed ""I am Pinoy, I am Young, I Yum" promoting Filipino values, the youth spirit and of course the Jollibee Yum-burger.

And secondly, just this month, Sam was personally chosen by Taylor Swift to open her Manila "Speak Now" concert this February 19.

The international top-selling American country singer has actually picked Sam to do front act for her whole Asian tour, not only in the Philippines, but also in Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.

It's indeed a big achievement for Sam and definitely makes us all proud.

Sam is still regularly hosting and performing for 2 shows (Shoutout,
ASAP Rocks) and as an actor, he's leading the cast of "Good Vibes" (a dance-oriented show for teens on ABS-CBN), being part of "Mara Clara" Book 2 and his return on the stage as "Peterpan" this September.

Truly, a wonderful year has just started for Sam and there's more to come. Thumbs up for you Sam!

was paired with the Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga.

Indian model and actress Sonali Bendre has wardrobe malfunction pics and videos being feasted on by internet users recently.

The wardrobe malfunction photos and videos taken on February 1 show Sonali Bendre inside a car seated beside Miss World 1994 and accomplished Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

The two were heeding to a victory party of Bollywood film director Karan Johar whose film "My Name is Khan" won for himself Best Director and two more honors at the 2011 Filmfare Awards held last January 29, 2011.

Photographers were able to capture pics of Sonali Bendre's wardrobe malfunction as well as videos which instantly made their way on the internet.

The wardrobe malfunction was not a simple one, 'coz it caught Sonali panty-less, as in wearing no underwear. (Shocks! Kahiya naman!)

A video of it was posted on the website "The Times Of India" but was removed immediately after objections from its readers.

On Youtube, a number of Sonali Bendre's wardrobe malfunction videos were also posted there but unfortunately, they can no longer be viewed.

A model-turned actress, the 35-year-old Sonali Bendre already appeared in more than 40 Bollywood films. She also sat as judge on talent shows Indian Idol Season 4 and India's Got Talent.

Sam Milby will be doing a cameo appearance on "Mara Clara", the currently #1 soap on primetime.

And what will be Sam Milby's role in the soap?

Sam will be one of Mara's escorts on her 18th 16th birthday celebration which will be shown on next week's episodes.

How sozy naman!

Sam already told his Twitter followers about it last week, but he did not indicate his role. He just tweeted that he's taping for Mara Clara.

"Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" premieres February 12 on ABS-CBN

"Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" is the title of ABS-CBN's newest noontime show, which premieres next Saturday, February 12, 2011.Do you like the
title "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" or not?Whoever thought of "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" probably just
celebrated his birthday or any joyous celebration. Or he probably drew
inspiration from Wowowee's "Hep Hep Hooray!"

But it's just a title, and the viewers are still after the "content"
of the show.

ABS-CBN's 5-month noontime show "Pilipinas Win Na Win" had a nice-sounding title, but it wasn't successful. So maybe, "Happy,
Yipee, Yehey" which is most suited as a title for a children show could spell success for ABS-CBN.

I'm actually feeling positive that it will be a hit to the viewers, especially with the exciting line-up of hosts.

"Happy, Yipee, Yehey!" will be hosted by Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Mariel Rodriguez and Toni Gonzaga plus Melai Cantiveros, Bianca
Manalo, Bentong and Youtube sensation Kuya Jobert (Banana Split, Usapang Lalake).

[Oh sad! I thought Sam Milby will be part of this show.]

This marks the return to noontime hosting of Randy, John, Mariel and Toni while it's a first for Melai and Bianca.

Bentong, I think, should be crowned "King of Noontime Show" 'coz he's always been part of an ABS-CBN noontime. He was also in Magandang Tanghali Bayan, Masayang Tanghali Bayan, Wowowee
and Pilipinas Win Na Win.

Miriam Defensor Santiago, Mother Lily Monteverde both find Sen. Antonio Trillanes "handsome"

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago and Mother Lily Monteverde, who are prominent women in the country, both described Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as "very handsome" on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

Trillanes was definitely in his "handsomest" form that day, wasn't he?

Sen. Santiago expressed her admiration after Sen. Trillanes delivered his first ever sponsorship speech in the Senate since he was elected as Senator in 2007.

On the evening of the same day, Sen. Trillanes attended the Chinese New Year 2011 celebration of Regal Films' matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde held at the Imperial Suites in QC.

Oh well, Sen. Trillanes looks like a bit of John Lloyd Cruz and if ever he's entering showbiz, he can play John Lloyd's older brother or his father. But since he's most likely to appear in a Regal movie, he can be in a love triangle with Eugene Domingo and Marian Rivera.

However, Sen. Trillanes reportedly said last night that he's not interested in joining showbiz because he doesn't have any talent (Pep.ph).

"Mara Clara" dominates primetime TV ratings for January 31 and February 1, 2011

ABS-CBN's "Mara Clara" has been winning the ratings battle for two nights now, based on the latest People Ratings survey released by AGB Nielsen Media Research in Mega Manila.

Last Monday (January 31, 2011), "Mara Clara" got 14.2% to top all primetime programs and it happened again the next day, February 1, it scored 14.8% rating, also #1 for that day.

Those ratings are the soap's highest ratings so far in Mega Manila and are much higher than its pilot rating of 11.6% in October 25.

If you're following the soap, you for sure know the reason why it's drawing bigger rating numbers than usual. It's because of the explosive revelation in the soap: The Del Valle(s) have already discovered that Mara is their real daughter and not Clara.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's new show "Mutya" premiered last Monday with a pilot rating of 11.9% good enough to land on 3rd spot over-all and was able to drown rival shows on GMA, the previous #1 "Dwarfina" and the 1-week-old "Machete" which ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

However, 2nd-day rating of Mutya slipped and it ranked 7th, a big drop from its pilot night ranking.

"Noah", which wasn't rating well the previous week, is back in the Top 10, atleast in 10th place both in Monday and Tuesday.

The Chinese New Year 2011 or the Year of the Metal Rabbit is coming in a few hours and ABS-CBN will have a countdown of it tonight.

ABS-CBN celebrates the 2011 Chinese New Year with the Filipino-Chinese community tonight at the Quirino Grand Stand featuring some of your favorite Kapamilya stars.

It will be hosted by Pokwang, Jayson Gainza, TJ Manotoc and Venus Raj.

Kristine and Oyo wedding video now up!

The wedding video of Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto can be seen now at the Vimeo account of wedding videographer Bong Sare.

And as of this posting, the said Oyo-Tin wedding video now has more than half-a-million hits since it has become available for viewing last Sunday, January 30, 2011.

Bong Sare actually first posted it on Vimeo on January 13, a day after the wedding of Kristine and Oyo at Club Balai Isabel in Batangas, but it was set to private. It's only last Jan. 30 that the video becomes open for public viewing.

The couple's wedding video is so cool and really shows how happy they were on that special day.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes earns "handsome" remark from Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago

Senator Antonio Trillanes must be flattered to hear that the feisty Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago finds him as the "most handsome" in the Senate today.

On Wednesday, February 2, 2011, Sen. Trillanes delivered his first ever sponsorship speech in the Senate since he was elected as Senator in 2007.

[It was only last December when he was freed from prison where he spent 7 years after leading the Oakwood Mutiny in 2003.]

After Trillanes' speech, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago was quoted saying to everyone at the Senate: "I declare for the record that I find him (Senator Trillanes) to be the most handsome Senator standing in this House today."

It was shown on various news program last night.

Coming from Sen. Santiago, wow, it's very flattering isn't it? She
also suggested that Sen. Trillanes should try smiling once in a while for him to look even better.

The 39-year-old serious-type Trillanes was able to beat other goodlooking Senators such as former action stars Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid as well as
the mestizo Ralph Recto and even Bongbong Marcos, atleast in the high
standards of Sen. Santiago.

"Iñigo Pascual's duet with Papa P", "Celebrity Weddings", "Binibining Pilipinas" are 'hottest items' in January 2011

The duet of Iñigo Pascual and his Papa (Piolo Pascual), the candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2011, Willie Revillame's latest outburst and big-time celebrity weddings were among the "hottest items" on Mykiru Isyusero in January 2011.

Those hottest items were the 20 most viewed posts on this blog last month.

The Top 20 is actually full of posts about weddings, 9 of which are about the 2 weddings held in January (Kristine-Oyo, Roxanne-Elton nuptials) and even the 2 weddings that happened last December (Maggie-Victor, Ogie-Regine nuptials).

But those are expected.

I am more amazed with the duet of Papa P and his son Iñigo Pascual. Their 2-minute duet during Piolo's birthday celebration on ASAP Rocks last Jan. 9 drew so much attention to become one of the hottest items last month, ranking 13th just behind those usual "hits".

It was actually Iñigo's first ever TV appearance (and also his first performance on TV).

Last July, the Twitter issue between "Inigo" (allegedly a poser) and Piolo's now girlfriend KC Concepcion was also among the most popular topics for that month ranking 2nd and even continued as among the hottest in August.

And for the over-all Top 50 posts for 2010, the said Twitter controversy ranked 17th.

It's a proof that many people are really interested with Piolo's son.

Other hot items in January was the Daniel Matsunaga elevator video, Jasmine Curtis meeting Mark Salling in Boracay and the TV Patrol's footage of Boracay tourists doing a "thing" in the island.

New "Superman" Henry Cavill is a real hottie!

A new "Superman" movie is coming this 2012 and the superhero role will be played by British actor Henry Cavill, as announced by Warner Bros. last January 30, 2011.

Cavill is succeeding Brandon Routh (the "Superman Returns" actor who had a distracting bulge back then) and will play Clark Kent / Superman in Zack Snyder's "Superman: The Man of Steel" slated for release in December 2012.

That's 6 years after the last Superman movie.

We are yet to see how Henry Cavill looks like in a Superman costume but I think he'll be another hot and sexy Superman just like the previous ones.
