Miss Venezuela Ana Elizabeth Mosquera crowned Miss International 2010

Miss Venezuela Ana Elizabeth Mosquera Gomez has just been crowned Miss
International 2010 earlier tonight, November 7, at the Sichuan Province Gymnasium in Chengdu, China.

Elizabeth is only 19 years old and becomes the 6th Venezuelan to win the Miss International crown.

Venezuela has won the title in 2006 and the crown goes back to them in just 4 years. It's also their 4th Ms. Int'l crown within 10 years. Wow! They've won the title in 1985, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2006.

Though I'm kinda disappointed that top favorites Philippines and Japan didn't even end up at least as runner-up, Venezuela's victory was just fine because she's also a big favorite.

In fact, on Mykiru's list of favorites, Venezuela was 3rd and the official Top 15 were also generally favourable because they're all part of Mykiru's Top 30 Favorites.

There's nothing much surprising on this year's pageant except that Miss China was highly favored and was secured with a 2nd Runner Up placement. Reminds me of what happened at the Miss World 2010 last week where China also placed higher than the major faves.

Miss Puerto Rico Maydelise Columna wins Miss Intercontinental 2010

The Miss Intercontinental 2010 beauty pageant has just been held
minutes ago at the Taino Theatre of Barcelo Punta Cana Resort in
Dominican Republic.

Over 60 candidates competed for the Miss Intercontinental 2010 title and crowned winner was Puerto Rican model Maydelise Columna (photo) with
Misses Peru and Bahamas as her runners-up.

It's now the 3rd time that Puerto Rico has won Miss Intercontinental. The first 2 were in 1986 and 1991.

Shalani Soledad, from PNoy's First Lady to "Willing Willie" Girl

It seems like the beautiful Shalani Soledad just had a job demotion.

From President Noynoy Aquino's girlfriend to Willie Revillame's
co-host? Definitely not a good thing to include on her impressive resume!

Starting on Monday, November 8, Shalani Soledad is co-hosting Willing Willie, as confirmed by PEP's scoopbox on Twitter.

And that confirms
the rumor which started back in September that she's being considered
as Willie Revillame's co-host in the show.

It's kinda shocking because Willie was the #1 endorser of Manny
Villar, who lost to PNoy last elections. And here Shalani is, joining Willie's team after breaking up with PNoy.

Now I would like to believe that the romance between her and the President was just a campaign gimmick and definitely, both of them have benefited from it.

She was so cooperative during the campaign, made headlines with the Aquino sisters and probably, she also enjoyed the spotlight of being PNoy's "campaign" girlfriend because she after all wanted to be in showbiz.

Goodluck on your new job Shalani! It's actually less stressful than being the First Lady.

Brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz both hot & gorgeous

If Michelle and Ehra Madrigal are considered as the sexiest sisters in Philippine showbiz today, Rayver and Rodjun meanwhile should be called as the sexiest brothers.

I hope no one would object to that coz I could not think of any pair of showbiz brothers in this generation who are hotter and more gorgeous than Rayver and Rodjun Cruz.

Both of them are visible on TV as among the Kapamilya leading men. Rayver, 21, is actually way ahead of Rodjun, who's 2 years older when it comes to their status in showbiz. He already played leading man to Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, Bangs Garcia and is currently paired up with Cristine Reyes.

Rodjun on one hand has started to get noticed recently. (Thanks to his getting yummier bod.) He recently posed daring in X-Ray's Folio and is now a leading man to Bianca Manalo in "Juanita Banana".

Cosmopolitan Philippines is also featuring Rodjun as its Cosmo Online Hunk this November 2010.

Coming from the famous "Cruz" clan, both Rayver and Rodjun definitely have acquired the gorgeous genes from their family.

20 contestants chosen for the Miss Earth 2010 Talent Competition

The Miss Earth 2010 Talent Competition is happening on Tuesday, November 9, at the Diamond Place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

More than 50 talented contestants have auditioned but only 20 finalists will be chosen to compete on the Talent Show this Tuesday.

Over 80 candidates are competing for the Miss Earth 2010 title, with the finals happening on December 4 at the Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Notably "missing" countries this year are: Albania, Argentina, Greece, Honduras, Israel, Paraguay and Spain, which even had a runner-up last year.

Newbie Hiro Magalona wants to be paired with Anne Curtis

There's a new "Magalona" in showbiz and just like Francis M's son Elmo, he's also cute and has lots of potential to be the next matinee idol.

He is Hiro Magalona (Full Name: Hiro Jhenel Magalona Peralta), who happens to be the son of Francis M's first cousin.

Hiro is only 15 years old (he's turning 16 at 12 midnight tonight), and is now preparing himself for more showbiz opportunities after winning as Mr. Olive C Campus Model Search late last month.

While he is most likely to become a Kapuso star, Hiro revealed in the showbiz bi-monthly freezine XTRA last September that he wants Kapamilya star Anne Curtis to be his leading lady. "If ever na mabibigyan ako ng pagkakataong pumili ng makakapareha ang gusto ko si Anne Curtis. Maganda kasi siya, pag nakikita ko siya di ko mapigilang ma-starstruck. Para syang anghel, ang amo ng mukha."

Charice to perform at NBC's Christmas 2010 Special, airing this November 30

NBC has announced last Wednesday the line-up of performers for its 13th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center Special.

And among the performers is our very own Charice, who is listed alongside big-time names such as Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Jessica Simpson and Susan Boyle.

Charice will indeed bring another pride to the Philippines after making us feel proud of her Glee appearance in September.

The said Christmas 2010 Special will be aired this November 30, 8 to 9 PM, on NBC.

And a day after that, we should also watch out for the announcement of the 53rd Grammy nominations. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Charice will score her first Grammy nomination.

Michelle Madrigal is the latest castoff on Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown

Michelle Madrigal is the 10th castoff of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown after she got voted off the game tonight.

She now becomes the 3rd Jury member, joining boyfriend Jon Hall and
Aira Bermudez.

Michelle's elimination was no longer shocking as she was supposed to
get eliminated 2 weeks ago, if only she wasn't saved by her hero Jon Hall, who passed on to her the immunity bracelet.

And as for the remaining 7 castaways, it's now very unpredictable as
to who will be eliminated next.

It's getting more exciting as the season finale on December 3 comes closer.

I'm actually more excited to know if Moi Marcampo, who's still very
much in the game, is indeed the rumored winner of the season.

Vietnam awaits arrival of Miss Earth 2010 candidates

Vietnamese people are now eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Miss
Earth 2010 candidates.

Over 90 candidates are expected to arrive in Vietnam for the 10th edition of Miss Earth pageant. And as of 3PM Thursday (November 4), four candidates have already arrived.

The very first to arrive was Miss Mauritius Anne-Lise Ramooloo (photo above), who landed on Vietnam last Wednesday afternoon. Arriving next were Miss Jamaica Kai Ayanna McDonald, Miss Mexico Claudia Lopez
Mollinedo and Miss Guam Naiomie Jean Santos.

All 4 of them were presented to the press already on Thursday along with Miss Earth 2009 Larissa Ramos. The presscon was held at the Diamond Place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Check out their first pictures:

Apology of Korean actress Lee Da Hae unacceptable to some Filipinos

Famous Korean actress Lee Da Hae (My Girl, Green Rose, East of Eden) has already apologized for allegedly insulting Filipino teachers.

Aussie-raised Lee Da Hae posted her apology on Twitter yesterday. (Read it HERE.) And according to her, she never mentioned the Filipinos or the Philippines during her interview, and it never crossed her mind to insult the Filipino teachers.

She made the apology after she was slammed by some angry Pinoy fans who were able to watch a video of her on Youtube. In the said video, Lee Da Hae was a guest on the Korean TV show "Sweet Night" and was asked to mimick English accents of various races. Watch the video below:

Lee Da Hae, who's popularly known to the Filipinos as Jasmine of "My Girl, said in her apology that she did not mention Filipinos or the Philippines when she did the "mimick" part, but the guy with her in the video clearly said, "How about the Philippines?".

Yes, she really did not mention Philippines but it seemed that she was referring to the Philippines. That's why her apology is still unacceptable to some Filipinos.

Lee Da Hae may have offended the Filipinos, but the fact still remains that a lot of Koreans are living in the Philippines and hire Filipino tutors just to teach them English. That just means, most Koreans (that includes Ryan Bang) still believe that Philippines is superior when it comes to the English language.

"Till My Heartaches End" wins box office

Star Cinema's "Till My Heartaches End" has topped the Philippine box office on its opening week.

According to Box Office Mojo, the Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson movie collected a gross receipts of P33,022,367 or P33.02 million for its opening week (October 27 to 31, 2010) good enough to rule the box office charts.

Viva Films' "Petrang Kabayo" who was on top for 2 weeks, has bowed down to #2 on its 3rd week, but the movie has already reached the P100-million mark in 19 days, and not in 6 days as what Viva was claiming.

The first 5-day gross of "Till My Heartaches End" was way below than the gross revenue of Kimerald's previous movie "Paano Na Kaya" shown in January.

ABS-CBN Christmas 2010 Station ID to be launched tomorrow, November 4

ABS-CBN will launch tomorrow, November 4, its Station ID for Christmas 2010.

With the theme "Ngayong Pasko, Magningning ang Pilipino" sang by Gary V and Toni Gonzaga, it will be shown for the first time tomorrow, right after TV Patrol and hundreds of Kapamilya stars are featured there.

On my part, I'm so much excited to see the PBB Teen Clash housemates who are making their debut on a Station ID of ABS-CBN, just like the Hitmakers, Pilipinas Got Talent finalists and "Juanita Banana" Bianca Manalo.

Frat men turned lovers in "Brod"

An indie Pinoy film about fraternity brotherhood with a twist is coming to theaters on November 10, 2010.

The movie is entitled "Brod" and it stars international Best Actor Kenjie Garcia (Ang Lihim ni Antonio, Lilay) as Terence and Cosmo 2009 Bachelor Ardie Bascara as Tad, who are playing as fraternity members.
As you can see in these movie posters below, it's a special kind of
brotherhood for Tad and Terence.

Cosmopolitan, November 2010: Kim Chiu is on the cover again!

Kapamilya star Kim Chiu is on the cover of Cosmopolitan Philippines for the 2nd time.

Cosmo's November 2010 issue features Kim Chiu back on the cover and the pretty young actress, who has been harshly intrigued the past month, talks about how she kept her cool amidst all the intrigues.

Kim now becomes the 7th Kapamilya star to grace the magazine's cover this 2010.

I've noticed that for 2010, Cosmo has been featuring ABS-CBN stars on its cover. And so far, Marian Rivera was the only star from GMA who landed on the mag's cover this year. Maybe their last issue for the year is reserved for another Kapuso star.

Manny Pacquiao and Will Ferrell sing John Lennon's "Imagine" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao has guested again on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

And just like his previous guestings in the show, Manny sang again (whether you like it or not), but this time in a duet with Hollywood comedy superstar Will Ferrell.

Manny and Will sang together the John Lennon hit "Imagine". Watch the video below and judge if Manny is a threat to Filipina singing sensation Charice:

Can you imagine that? Manny was singing with a Hollywood star and he reportedly wasn't nervous at all.

But I'm still not convinced that Manny can sing very well. American Idol ex-judge Simon Cowell would probably say "It's very karaoke!" if he's gonna hear him sing.

It's now Manny's 3rd guesting on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The first time was in November 2009 and there he sang Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Tats (Touch)" . It was after that guesting when he was spotted leaving with a mystery girl inside his car. The girl was believed to be Krista Ranillo.

Then in March 2010, Manny guested again and performed George Benson's "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You".

Don't be surprised if Manny will produce his own album in the US.

Miss Philippines Krista Eileen Arrieta Kleiner is currently the top
favorite to emerge as winner in the Miss International 2010 beauty pageant.

The finals on November 7 in China is just 5 days aways from now and

Miss Philippines is the strongest bet for the crown, followed by the candidates from Japan, Czech Republic, Brazil and Venezuela.

Change of status for Hideo Muraoka

Brazilian-Japanese model Hideo Muraoka is very much back in the Philippines after being gone for more than a year.

He already guested in two Kapuso shows and in the 6-day Philippine Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2011, he was seen modeling in at least three main events such as for Folded & Hung Streetcast, LEEberation, Wharton and more.

But something has changed in him as he comes back to do some modeling stuff here. And that is his civil status. He's already married and now a father to a less than a year-old baby girl.

Does it make him less hot? I think no, coz he's in fact even hotter now than he was. Hot Papa indeed! Here's Hideo at the Folded & Hung Streetcast Fashion Show last Friday:
