YOG 2010 Opening Ceremony happens August 14 | Torch Relay Route from August 7 to 13

The Youth Olympics Games or YOG 2010 in Singapore will officially start via an opening ceremony on August 14 at the famous Marina Bay
Floating Platform.

And the lighting of the Youth Olympic Flame (YOF) happened Friday night.

To serve as a countdown, the YOG's 6-day torch relay has began yesterday with the route starting in the Central districts of Singapore and will continue to the Southeastern parts, then in Northeast, Northwest and Southwest parts of the country. The YOG Torch Relay route will culminate on the 14th at the Marina Bay in time for the YOG 2010 Opening Ceremony.

There are 2,400 torchbearers participating in the torch relay and they
include students, social activists, athletes, actors, dancers, news
personalities, businessmen and other celebs.

Also among them are representatives from 39 countries including a Filipino in Singapore, Lovelino Arboleda.

The YOG 2010 will start August 14 and ends on August 26. There are about 5,000 athletes who will compete in 26 sport events.

Team Philippines has 9 delegates in 5 sport events and they are:

Bobby Ray Parks Jr, Michael Anthony Pate, Jeron Alvin Teng (picture)
and Cris Michael Tolomia for Basketball; Jasmine Alkhaldi and Jessie
King Lacuña for Swimming; Kirk Barbosa for Taekwondo; Jeson Patrombon for Tennis; and Patricia Llena for Weightlifting.

On ELive: Robin Padilla declares his love for Mariel Rodriguez

It was "kiligness" to the highest level when Robin Padilla confessed his true feelings for Mariel Rodriguez on ELive today.

Mariel was a bit feeling awkward while interviewing Robin but she
obviously felt like heaven as "Idol" declared on national t.v. that he
loves Mariel, who happens to be celebrating her birthday on ELive.

"Hindi ako nagsisinungaling. Totoo 'to Mariel. Kung sagutin mo ako o hindi, ingatan mo ang singsing na 'yan.
Hindi ako nagsisinungaling sa 'yo Mariel (dahil) MAHAL KITA" Robin said.

And Mariel was crying while hearing those words from Robin. She obviously feels the same way.

That was actually the last part of the interview and Mariel later said that it was her best birthday celebration ever on ELive. (It was actually one of ELive's best episodes ever!)

Earlier in the interview, Robin kept on telling Mariel, "Wala akong
sabit", probably because Mariel still has doubts over Robin's real
status.

It was also the most perfect time to answer the issue that they're secretly married. Robin said, "'Yung sa kasalan po, hindi po namin itatago sa inyo...kung papayag si Mariel na pakasalan ako."

They also talked about the reported P2M-worth diamond ring in which Robin has admitted that it indeed came from him. Robin said it was her gift for Mariel and even compared her to a diamond. "Isa kang diamond na
dapat ingatan. Ang iyong kinang ay kailanma'y 'di kukupas."

Kinilig ba kayo? Ako, oo! Just like those who have made "Mariel" among the Top 10 trending topics on Twitter right after that interview. They for sure felt the same way.

Robin and Mariel also announced that they indeed have a movie coming up and shooting starts when Robin comes back after a long "Ramadan" leave.

"He's Beautiful" premieres August 16 on ABS-CBN's Hapontastic

The long wait is over...

The Koreanovela hit "You're Beautiful" (now titled "He's Beautiful"
will finally air on ABS-CBN starting August 16 after months of
anticipantion by Pinoy viewers.

It will be aired on weekdays, on ABS-CBN's Hapontastic block before "Momay". This might be disappointing for some who were expecting it on
primetime, but others are already happy with it.

I understand why ABS-CBN opted to put it on daytime because there's no
more timeslot to fill in on primetime.


However, that's the timeslot alloted for the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group shows, thus it's going to be one-day delayed everyday in some provinces. How can ABS-CBN be harsh to the viewers from those in the provinces? They still have more than a week to change the timeslot, as being requested by some viewers.

"He's Beautiful" is topbilled by Park Shin-hye as Mi Nam/ Mi Nyu, Jang Geun Suk as Tae Kyung, Lee Hong Ki as Jeremy and Jung Yong Ha as Shin Woo, collectively known as "A.N.JELL."

Some of you for sure are familiar with Park Shin-hye and Jang Geun Suk as they appeared already in other Koreanovelas. Shin-hye played the
young Jodi in "Stairway to Heaven" (shown on GMA 7) and as Shin Sae Ryung in "Prince Hours" aired on Studio 23, while Geun Suk was Kim Eun-ho in "Hwang Jini" on GMA 7 and as Kang Gun-woo in "Beethoven
Virus" on Q11.

Lee Hong Ki meanwhile is the leader of FT Island who already held a
concert in Manila last March and Jung Yong Hwa is the leader of Korean indie band C.N.Blue.

Not a surprise as Preview has amazingly transformed Pokwang into a super gorgeous woman for a fashion face-off with real estate heiress and true fashionista Divine Lee.

Preview has dedicated 12 pages of the mag for its fashion editorial featuring Pokwang and Divine.

And now, there's already a petition page on Facebook requesting Preview to
have Pokwang as its next cover girl. Great idea!

"Sa 'Yo Lamang" movie poster released | Bea Alonzo leads star-studded cast

From the same producer and director of the 2000 hit family drama
"Tanging Yaman", here comes another interesting family movie that will
surely touch our hearts.

Pero, interesting nga ba?

"Sa 'Yo Lamang" official movie poster has been released and a first look at it, the poster doesn't generate to me the desire to watch it.

It looks so plain and simple. There's nothing extra special about it. So maybe, it's just a light drama and not as heavy as "Tanging Yaman".

"Tanging Yaman" poster was better as it gave a hint that Gloria
Romerio, as the matriarch, plays the central character of the story based on how she appears on the poster.

It's not the case though for "Sa 'Yo Lamang" because there's no emphasis on anyone, except that Bea Alonzo's name is emphasized and slightly bigger than Lorna Tolentino and Christopher De Leon's.

Good thing though that they've included Coco Martin and Enchong Dee in
the cast. Both are crowd-drawers and "Sa 'Yo Lamang" marks Coco's first ever appearance in a mainstream movie.

Joining them are Zanjoe Marudo, Shaina Magdayao, Empress, Miles Ocampo and Diether Ocampo, with the special participation of Igi Boy Flores and Dominic Ochoa.

Interestingly, Shaina as a child star and Dominic in his early 20's were also part of "Tanging Yaman".

Robin Padilla leaving Pilipinas Win Na Win, denies any problem with Kris Aquino

Robin Padilla has announced on Pilipinas Win Na Win today that he's leaving the show.

Not permanently, but only temporary as Robin, who's Muslim, will leave the show to observe Ramadan.

"Sa amin pong mga Muslim, bawal po ang magtrabaho tuwing Ramadan," he said during the show's opening part.

Before Robin's official announcement today, PEP already reported about Robin leaving the show but according to its report, Robin allegedly is only using "Ramadan" as the reason why he is about to quit the show, but the real reason is, still according to PEP, Robin allegedly is unhappy working with Kris Aquino in the show.

The PEP report even cited an unnamed showbiz insider telling them that Kris and Robin have conflicting hosting styles on Pilipinas Win Na Win, but both have dominant personalities.

Robin has denied it also today. "Wala pong nagaganap na drama rito sa aming programa. At wala po akong tampo kay Kris," he told the viewers.

I almost believed that PEP report because as what I've observed, Kris is owning the show, from opening to the closing part of the show and at times, upstaging Robin especially in their Open Susi Me segment. She however adds life to the show as the Kris we used to know.

But with Robin denying any conflict with Kris, I have to believe that everything's fine between them.

Robin has also announced that tomorrow on ELive, Mariel Rodriguez will have a one-on-one interview with him.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson has revealed her new haircut - - a super short hair.

Do you love it or not?

Since starring as a kiddie Hermione in Harry Potter until she's grown up, Emma Watson had always been sporting a medium-length wavy hair, thus it's indeed a big sudden change of hair style for the 20-year-old lovely actress.

The next Harry Potter film (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1) is slated for release this November, so maybe her long hair will be back by then in time for the promotion of the movie.

GMA 7 - "Home of the Losers"? How come?

GMA 7 is now being branded by some people as the "Home of the Losers". Why?

That's after PEP posted on Twitter that Edu Manzano is set to host a game show in the Kapuso station.

Edu lost in the 2010 National Elections when he ran as running mate to
Presidential Candidate Gibo Teodoro.

And breaking his promise that he will retire in showbiz after the elections, here he is now going to host a new game show not on ABS-CBN
where he stayed for the longest time but on GMA 7. And true to what happened to him in the elections, Edu's new show reportedly will be
titled "Atras Talo Palaging Panalo".

Edu has actually been rumored to switch networks since Cesar Montano also transfered to GMA mid-July. And just like Edu, Cesar also lost in
the elections as Bohol Governor.

With that, some people are calling the Kapuso network as "Home of the
Losers" as it continues to welcome those who lost in the recent elections.

Aside from Edu and Cesar, other losers in the elections are also cast in some GMA shows, just like Ara Mina (Ilumina), Anjo
Yllana (Eat Bulaga), Joey Marquez (Kaya ng Powers), Lito Atienza (Maynila) and Aiko Melendez (Basahang Ginto).

Despite the new tag, GMA however also takes pride of having in the network those who won in the elections: Sen. Bong Revilla (Kap's Amazing Stories),

Over 80 Miss Universe 2010 candidates are expected to arrive in Las Vegas on August 7, 2010, but 6 of them are arriving 2 days
earlier in Los Angeles.

The 6 candidates have been handpicked by the Miss Universe
Organization to participate in the media tour and promote the Miss
Universe 2010 pageant.

Cristine Reyes exposes Rayver Cruz - Sarah Geronimo relationship

Alert! Alert Sarah Geronimo fans!

Cristine Reyes had a shocking confession to Boy Abunda on SNN tonight with regards to her rumored relationship with Rayver Cruz.

The "Kristine Series" star denied once again that Rayver is her boyfriend, but she however admitted that the actor-dancer courted her before.

And according to Cristine, she dumped Rayver because she found out that he's still committed to someone else, who happens to be her co-VIVA talent Sarah Geronimo.

"Mahirap maging masaya kung alam mong may masasaktang iba," Cristine said in the interview.

Sounds like a line from a movie or teleserye, but Cristine has actually experienced it.

She did mention Sarah in her SNN Confession but Boy Abunda was actually the first to bring up Sarah in the interview.

He asked Cristine if she knew about the rumored relationship of Rayver and Sarah, and Cristine honestly said what she knew about it.

Sarah and Rayver never admitted that they were "on" but Cristine has indirectly admitted it for them, just like Toni Gonzaga on The Buzz the other Sunday.

Typhoon Domeng makes Angel Locsin so sad and lonely

Angel Locsin is feeling so sad and lonely because of Typhoon Domeng. Why?

Angel herself doesn't know why, but maybe it's not because of the delayed airing of "Imortal", her soap with John Lloyd Cruz.

On Twitter, Angel has posted this tweet as Typhoon Domeng keeps pouring heavy rains outside: "I'm feeling sad...don't know why. Baka sa weather...Hmm...Senti hits?! hehe! For a moment like this! :p Malamang daming mag-emote dyan!"

So maybe Angel is missing someone... Is it Luis Manzano? So that means they aren't back to each other yet.

Frank Sinatra III rushed to hospital after suicide attempt

Frank Sinatra III, son of Frank Sinatra Jr and grandson of the late
music icon Frank Sinatra Jr, was rushed to the hospital last Monday in what believed to be a suicide attempt.

TMZ has reported that the 32-year-old Frank Sinatra III was rushed to Downey Regional Medical Center in California.

MTV VMA 2010 Nominees: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Eminem and more

MTV has bared the list of nominees for its VMA 2010 or the Video Music Awards happening on September 12, 2010 in L.A.

Lady Gaga leads VMA 2010 with 13 big nominations, a record in VMA history. She has lots of double nominations in various categories.
Thanks to her worlwide hits Bad Romance and Telephone.

Eminem follows with 8 nominations then among the new artists, "Nothin' On You" singer B.o.B leads with 5 nods.

Beyoncé also has 5 and partner Jay Z has 4 while Ke$ha and Usher both with 3 nominations.

The youngest nominee in the MTV VMA 2010 is, yes, Justin Bieber who's up as Best New Artist for his debut single "Baby".

Justin Bieber immediately told his Twitter followers the good news, recalling that he was not yet famous during last year's VMA. He tweets a few minutes ago: "I just found that I was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2010 VMA's. Wow! I remember walking the red carpet last year and no one knew my name."

At the MTV VMA 2009, Justin was a presenter and introduced Taylor Swift.

A-Pop sings "Aja! Asianovela", ABS-CBN's theme song for its upcoming Asianovelas

The group A-Pop, composed of Sam Concepcion, Jaco Benin, Nel Gomez and
Young JV, is singing "Aja! Asianovela", the official theme song for the collective Asianovelas coming very soon on ABS-CBN.

The official music video of "Aja! Asianovela" was shown earlier right
after TV Patrol and it also showed a teaser of the upcoming
Asianovelas on ABS-CBN.

With that theme song, it seems like the network is going to strengthen and solidify its claim as the first and true home of Asianovelas.

I knew all along that A-Pop was the one being referred to as "bagong mukha ng Asianovela" in a teaser shown long ago on ABS-CBN, but I thought they're gonna sing the theme song of "He's Beautiful". It
turned out though that the group is singing the theme for ABS-CBN's
Asianovela line-up.

Aside from "He's Beautiful", ABS-CBN will also air "My Fair Lady", "Down with Love", "I Love You So(Autumn's Concierto)" and Lee Min Ho-starring "Perfect Match".

But the question is: When is ABS-CBN going to air those Asianovelas?

The last time ABS-CBN aired an Asianovela on primetime was in 2009 and it was the hit Koreanovela "Boys Over Flowers." And the next to air is
"He's Beautiful" which has been long overdue already.

A lot of people have been waiting for "He's Beautiful" and finally it will air starting August 16, sadly not on primetime but on weekday afternoons.

"Ilumina" pilot leads People Ratings in Mega Manila for August 02, 2010

GMA 7's "Ilumina" has lead the competition on its pilot day, August 02, 2010, based on AGB People's Ratings in Mega Manila.

"Ilumina" stars Rhian Ramos, Aljur Abrenica, Jackie Rice and comebacking Kapuso Cesar Montano.

The said tele-fantasya ranked on top with 14.9% beating all the rival programs.

However, when it comes to National TV Ratings released by Kantar Media, "Ilumina" failed to beat competitions and ranked only 7th over-all.

Everyone in Singapore is talkin' about Katy Perry now as she draws excitement for the SingFest 2010 where she's one of the featured
performers.

The 3-day SingFest 2010 kicks off tonight, August 3, and Katy Perry will perform and 4 others such as the Tokio Hotel, Orianthi, The Like
and the WonderGirls. Tomorrow, August 4, Kanye West will headline the 2nd day of the event.

At yesterday's presscon held in Singapore's Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Katy Perry charmed local media in Singapore as well as the fans when
she gamely dressed up in a 2-piece bikini.

As what I've shared to you last night, the solo presscon for Katy was
held at the hotel's swimming pool and it was the first time for Katy
to hold a presscon on a pool. On Twitter, she tweeted, "I

Gerald Anderson-Pauleen Luna scandal resurfaces amidst rumours of Kim-Gerald rift

Scandalous pictures of Gerald Anderson and Pauleen Luna are surfacing again on the net as rumored rift between Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson
intensifies.

Here's one of those pictures I got from a forum:

It's considered scandalous because Gerald and Pauleen (obviously wasted) look like they had enough drink prior to the picture taking
(at nakaakbay pa si Pauleen kay Gerald at nakahawak pa si boy sa kamay ni girl). And remember, Gerald denied dating Pauleen before.

It's actually a 2-year-old picture which was reportedly taken at the house of Ruby Rodriguez, Pauleen's co-host in Eat Bulaga. As you can see, Julia Clarete is also there.

So why is the Gerald-Pauleen controversy being revived?

Kim and Gerald are reportedly not in good terms now because Gerald is rumored dating Bea Alonzo.

Taylor Swift has a new single coming out this August 16 and it's entitled "Mine".

On that day, "Mine" will be available on iTunes and people from the US can start requesting for it over the radio.

"Mine" is the first single on Taylor Swift's newest album entitled
"Speak Now" which is going to be released on October 25.

There's no official date yet for the release of "Mine" music video but
Taylor already filmed it in Maine and playing her leading man there is "The Covenant" actor Toby Hemingway.

Can you imagine how Justin Bieber would look like in 3D?

Start imagining now as Justin Bieber will indeed appear on a 3D movie this Valentine's 2011.

Justin himself shared the good news to his 4 million Twitter followers and he tweets, "Next Valentine's we are coming with a 3D movie telling the story with an Oscar winning director and also film in the tour at MSG in NYC!!"

Justin's referring to his upcoming concert tour on August 31, 2010 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City and that means, the 3D movie is like the "Hannah Montana" movie or "Jonas Brothers: 3D Concert Experience".

It excites a lot of Justin Bieber fans and they're looking forward to how Bieber would do his famous hair flip in 3D.

Justin himself could not believe he's set to appear on a 3D movie, but is very thankful for it. "This is so sick!! Gonna come out in theatre's worldwide Valentine's 2011!!! I'm taking this thing worldwide. Thanks to you all!! Hyped!!"

Miss Philippines Venus Raj send off to Miss Universe 2010 | Venus flies to Las Vegas on August 4

Miss Philippines 2010 Maria Venus Raj was given a send-off party at the Mandarin Oriental Suites in Gateway Mall this afternoon.

And there Venus showed her improved self, more beautiful and more confident. She has removed the braces on her teeth already and if there's one thing she has maintained since winning the Binibining Pilipinas 2010 pageant
last March, that's her 22-inch waistline.

That's indeed a winning figure for Venus and could put her among the sexiest candidates in the Miss Universe 2010.

There was no mention at the send off of the gown Venus will wear in the Miss Universe 2010 Evening Gown Competition.

Everyone's hoping that it's a not a recycled one. Our bet last year,
Bianca Manalo, believed to have scored low during the long gown competition. She had a not so fab gown and that probably caused her to lose a spot in the semifinals.

I'm hoping this year, Philippines won't have a bad choice when it
comes to her gown.

Venus will fly to Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 04, 2010 and then on August 5, she and 82 other candidates of Miss Universe 2010 will start arriving in the pageant venue.

Miss Philippines is given the hard task this 2010 of ending the 10-year non-placement of the Philippines in the semis of Miss Universe pageant.

For now, Venus is among the pre-pageant favorites to win the Miss
Universe 2010 crown. On the official site, Philippines is currently the highest rated there and the only one having a 3+ rating. The Top 10, as of this posting, are:

The Buzz August 01, 2010 episode: Kris Aquino speaks up on failed relationship with James Yap

August 1, 2010 marks the 1st death anniversary of former President Cory Aquino. And co-inciding with it is Kris Aquino's tell-all with Boy Abunda on The Buzz.

The second part was shown on The Buzz today and there, Kris finally talked about her failed marriage with James Yap and the reasons which led to it.

"Imortal" airing delayed again | Angel-Lloydie fans now getting impatient

Expected to air in June then moved to August but now, it's uncertain as to when "Imortal" is going to air on ABS-CBN.

The latest thing I've heard, it will premiere anytime this year. Wow! So you guys have until December to wait for it.

With "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Kristine" replacing "Rubi" on
August 16 and "iDOL" as a possible replacement for "Agua Bendita" this
September, it seems like "Imortal" is going to air as soon as "Magkaribal" or "Noah" ends. But both shows have just started in June
and July, thus it might take a long time for "Imortal" to have a slot on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.

With that, some viewers who are anticipating for that fantasy series of Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz are now growing impatient.

A campaign has been started on Twitter asking users to include "#WeWantIMORTAL" on their tweets if they want Imortal to finally air on TV.

One Twitter user, @nicoleko09, has even warned ABS-CBN of a possible
withdrawal by TFC subscribers: "We are really so crazy now #WeWantIMORTAL. Don't make us wait too long ABS-CBN. You might get
lost a million of subscribers if you still delay IMORTAL."

Some fans of John Lloyd and Angel are already missing them badly on primetime TV. We can't blame them coz it's been a year already since John Lloyd and Angel are seen on a teleserye.

Lloydie's last soap was "I Love Betty La Fea" which ended April 24, 2009, that's more than a year already. But he had two movies though
after that: "In My Life" and "Miss You Like Crazy".

It's even worse for Angel. Her last show was "Only You" (ended August 21, 2009) and she had no single movie after that. She's also celebrating her 3rd year as a Kapamilya, but she only made 2 TV series
and 3 MMK episodes in her 3-year-stay on ABS-CBN.

That's why, @joeymaunahan laments on Twitter: "Akala ko August 16 ang Imortal? Pinaasa nyo na naman kami. Halos 1 taong walang teleserye si
Angel sa inyo."

Maybe, ABS-CBN is polishing "Imortal" so much because it's a fantasy
series and it's better that way, rather than air it but still looks raw and rushed.

Judy Ann Santos' soap "Habang May Buhay" experienced the same thing of being delayed for so long and it even took 3 years before it was aired on TV.
