'Twilight' leads 2010 People's Choice Awards winners

Taylor Lautner wins as Favorite Breakout Actor for his role as Jacob Black in 'Twilight'.

'Twilight' won most of the awards in the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards held last night, January 6, 2010, in Los Angeles, California.

The vampire movie won awards such as Favorite On-Screen Team (for Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner), Favorite Movie, Favorite Franchise and Favorite Breakout Movie Actor for Lautner.

Another Taylor, Taylor Swift, was the Favorite Female Artist.

'Wapakman' pulled out in theaters?

How true that 'Wapakman' has been pulled out in theaters because of very low earnings?

Based on the latest figures released by the MMFF Executive Committee, there was no increase in 'Wapakman' gross receipts since January 03, 2010. The movie still has a gross earnings of P2.6 million.

Meanwhile, 'I Love You Goodbye' has already snatched the 2nd spot from 'Ang Darling Kong Aswang' but with only a hundred thousand difference.

Two more days to go before the end of the festival and sad to say, the 500million peso target might not be met.

Tiger Woods video scandal to come out this 2010?

Last December, news broke out that golf superstar Tiger Woods had a number of alleged extra-marital affairs.

Some of the women involved even came out and were claiming that they indeed had an affair with Woods.

Early this year, an alleged scandalous video of Woods and a woman is reportedly being offered to Vivid Entertainment, a p*rn video maker.

NYDailyNews.com reports that a woman is claiming that she had an affair with Woods two years back and she has a video to prove it.

The said video reportedly has a 30-minute running time, but it is still unclear whether the guy in the video is indeed Tiger Woods or not.

Woods' camp has already threatened to sue those who will publish naked photos or videos of the richy golfer.

Andy Roddick and the wild Koala couple

American tennis champion Andy Roddick and wifey Brooklyn Decker was in Australia two days ago and the couple visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

While Roddick was being interviewed by the press people, a 'wild' koala couple behind him turned up the heat, made some lovin' action and stole the limelight from the tennis superstar.

The deed caught the attention of the reporters that the interview with Roddick was put on hold.

Roddick himself got nothing to do but turn back and see the action happening behind him.

What was more funnier is that the koalas involved were an odd couple: the female koala is much bigger than the male koala.

'PBB' and 'Showtime' continue to show high ratings

For sure, ABS-CBN programs like "Pinoy Big Brother Double Up" and "Showtime" are causing their competitors a headache because the two Kapamilya shows are showing high ratings and topping the competition, according to the latest Mega Manila survey by AGB Nielsen Media Research.

Last December 29, 2009, "Showtime" topped all the daytime programs for the day including "Eat Bulaga!".

Then last Monday, January 4, 2009, it also won over the GMA's new show "Kapuso Movie Festival" which was a replacement to the 8-year-old talk show "Sis".

PBB Double Up meanwhile is a top-rater on primetime despite being shown on a late timeslot. It was the #1 program last December 29 with 32.1%, December 30 with 33.8% and on January 4 with an all-time high of 35.1%.

Just a recap: The top-rating episodes shown last December 29 to 30 were the time when housemate Jason Francisco was given a special task of being a house servant while last Monday, Big Utol replaced Big Brother who was hospitalized last weekend.

GMA's another new show "Queen Seon Dook" last Monday also failed to beat the re-run of "Boys Overs Flowers." It had 22.7% pilot ratings as against BOF's 25.4%.

Aside from "Showtime" and "PBB Primetime", other ABS-CBN programs which are consistently beating their rival programs are PBB Double Up Uber, My Cheating Heart, TV Patrol Sabado, PBB and Banana Split on Primetime Saturday, ASAP, Your Song, The Buzz and George and Cecil.

GMA somehow still has programs which remains to be unbeatable are Daisy Siete, Darna, Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, Kap's Amazing Stories, Mel & Joey and SNBO.

John Lloyd-Angel teleserye now in the works

Angel Locsin's dream project with the country's top leading man John Lloyd Cruz will finally push through this year.

As of latest development, the creative team for the John Lloyd Cruz-Angel Locsin teleserye already had a meeting yesterday and if every detail has been finalized, a story conference might be next.

This is an exciting project especially that it is said to bring back Lloydie as the best actor on television and will make Angel a certified best actress.

It was rumored before that the two will work together for the Pinoy remake of Mexican telenovela "Maria Mercedes". Is this already the rumored remake or an original material for the two?

The new teleserye is being planned to air by 3rd or 4th quarter of the year. For now, Angel is busy taping for the March 2010 fantaserye "Kokey @ Ako" with Vhong Navarro while John Lloyd has a post-Valentine 2010 movie with Bea Alonzo.

A fantasy series plus a soap with John Lloyd and a movie with Aga Muhlach are just some of the big projects for Angel this 2010.

'Pilipinas Got Talent' debuts on Valentine's Day 2010

As PBB Double Up stages its Big Night on February 14, which is a Valentine's Day, 'Pilipinas Got Talent' will have its premiere on that same day also on ABS-CBN.

It will be hosted by the exciting tandem of Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano. Two judges have already been announced and they are former ABS-CBN President Freddie M. Garcia and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

Yes, Kris is back as judge after she announced that her busy sked won't allow her to accomodate new assignment. But isyuseros didn't easily believe her reason then because she was rumored to make "tampo" when she learned before that a pictorial has been made already for the judges except for her and she thought that someone was being considered other than her.

When 'Pilipinas Got Talent' starts next month, Kris will be regularly seen in 4 Kapamilya shows. Her other shows are SNN, The Buzz and Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo, which starts on January 18.

The third 'Pilipinas Got Talent' judge, which is obviously a guy, will be revealed on Friday.

American Idol Season 9 premieres Jan. 12, 2010

Exactly a week from now, the 9th Season of American Idol will premiere on FOX Network in the US.

On January 12 and 13, 2010, American Idol Season 9 will have a 2-night premiere and air the auditions done in Boston and Atlanta while on the coming weeks, auditions in Chicago, Orlando, L.A. and Denver will be shown.

The Road to Hollywood auditions will be aired starting February 3 then the official Top 24 semifinalists will be revealed on Feb. 17.

Ryan Seacrest will still host the show and judges such as Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi will still be part of it. New addition in the judges lineup is Ellen DeGeneres who replaced Paula Abdul.

The American Idol Season 9 will also be the last season that Simon will sit as judge 'coz he'd be concentrating in his other projects, such as the 'X-Factor'.

In the Philippines, the new season of American Idol will be aired starting Jan. 13 on Q11.

'Wapakman' is still on top of the flops

'Wapakman' which stars Manny Pacquiao, Krista Ranillo and Rufa Mae Quinto is still the lowest-grossing film in the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival.

But it's breaking the record of Manny Pacquiao's first MMFF movie in 2007.

The movie now has an accumulated gross for 9 days of P2.5 million, which is now higher than the earnings of Manny Pacquiao's MMFF 2007 entry "Anak ng Kumander" which generated P2,457,113 earnings for 14 days.

At least, that can be considered an "achievement" on the part of Manny.

"Wapakman" is also the only MMFF 2009 entry to be included in the Top 10 Lowest-Grossing MMFF movies in the last 5 years (exclusively compiled by Mykiru):

'Avatar' worldwide gross reaches $1 billion mark

For three weeks now, James Cameron's movie "Avatar" is #1 in the US boxoffice as well as in other countries.

"Avatar" also breaks records and now has a total worldwide gross estimate of $1.021 billion after 17 days, becoming the 5th movie in history to reach the billion-dollar mark.

The other movies who reached more than $1 billion gross receipts include another James Cameron film "Titanic" in 1997 ($1.83 billion), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in 2003 ($1.13 billion), "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" in 2006 ($1.06 billion) and "The Dark Knight" in 2008 ($1.001 billion).

Just like "Titanic", "Avatar" is also a strong contender in the Oscar 2010.

Melai Cantiveros is suspected to have an ADHD

I have read in an article at Business Mirror that Melisa 'Melai' Cantiveros of PBB Double Up is being suspected to have an ADHD or Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

What's ADHD?

According to Wikipedia, ADHD is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder primarily characterized by "the co-existence of attentional problems and hyperactivity, with each behavior occurring infrequently alone."

Among the symptoms of this condition are being forgetful, easily bored, has no focus, daydreaming, very impatient, talk non-stop and constantly in motion.

Is Melai like that? I don't think so.

The article actually contains author Ricky Gallardo's predictions for some existing and upcoming stars.

And according to him, most of his friends are suspecting that Melai has an ADHD and her loveteam (Melason) with Jason Francisco will only be shortlived.

He also predicted that Kimerald's next soap will be a hit, but not their next movie.

Aljur Abrenica is also expected to shine brighter this 2010, but his loveteam partner Kris Bernal will pull him down.

Sid Lucero and Coco Martin are predicted to become the next best leading men while Maricar Reyes, Ina Feleo, Max Eigenmann and Maja Salvador are the next best leading ladies.

Carlo Marino, Mister Luxembourg World 2010

Carlo Marino will represent Luxembourg in the Mr. World 2010 pageant.

Carlo is already 30-years-old and works as an accountant/employée de bureau in Luxembourg.

In March 2010, he will fly to Seoul, South Korea to compete with over 80 candidates for the grand comeback of Mr. World pageant.

The last Mr. World pageant was held in 2007. Supposedly, a 2009 pageant was to be held last September, but for an unknown reason, the contest has been moved to March 2010 and hopefully, it will already push through.

Housemates Jason, Johan and Sam are this week's nominees for eviction

The first set of nominees this 2010 has just been revealed on ABS-CBN'S Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.

Jason Francisco leads this week's nominees via a self-imposed automatic nomination. He was the weakest during the HOH game and instead of giving 3points to his co-housemates face to face, he opted to give himself an automatic nomination. This is already Jason's fifth time to be nominated.

For the third time, Sam Pinto is included in the list of nominees. During the last eviction, Sam got the highest number of votes, a positive 15.16%.

Completing the set of nominees is 2nd timer Johan Santos who just like Jason and Sam also has lots of supporters.

On Saturday, January 09, 2010, one of them has to go during the 9th eviction night of PBB Double Up.

'Kuya' rushed to the hospital

Just like the PBB housemates ay posible ring magkasakit si Kuya.

Kaya naman this Sunday morning in the confession room, Kuya suddenly collapsed while talking with housemate Mariel Soriño regarding this week's nomination.

A video has been shown this afternoon kung saan nakitang nakahiga sa stretcher si Kuya, isinakay sa ambulance and was rushed to the hospital. Ayon sa mga doctor, over-fatigue ang dahilan ng kanyang pag-collapse.

As of now, Kuya is still under observation at the hospital.

Hindi man ipinakita mukha ni Big Bro ay mapapansin naman na maputi ito at medium-built ang katawan. At hindi malaki ang tiyan, in fairness.

May lumabas din kayang litrato ni Kuya just like the picture of 'Bro' ng 'May Bukas Pa'?

No one has been eliminated tonight on Starstruck V.

Another twist has been revealed by hosts Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana and it says that the public, the council and the contestants themselves are now given the power to vote out any of the Survivor 10 who they think does not deserve to stay in the competition.

Two hopefuls, 1 boy and 1 girl, will be eliminated next Sunday as based on the text votes (60%), from the council (20%) and the contestants' choice (20%). Remember that for this week, you, the council and the contestants will have to vote out and not vote to save. (Just like PBB's "vote to evict" system.)

'Shake, Rattle & Roll 11' gives way to 'I Love You Goodbye'

Nothing much has changed in the boxoffice standing of the MMFF 2009 entries after the New Year's Day except that "I Love You, Goodbye" is now the 3rd top-grossing film and the former 3rd topgrosser is now in 4th position, according to the figures released by Mr. Ric Camaligan of MMFF Execom.

"Ang Panday" has also widened its lead over the other entries, now with almost 70M-peso earnings.

Four of the 7 official entries are now being expected to reach the 100million mark by the end of the festival on January 7th.

Pacman's movie "Wapakman" earned 61, not millions, but thousand pesos
last December 31 to January.

It was not a good New Year's gift for the transgender housemate of PBB Double Up when she got evicted on the 2nd day of the New Year 2010.

Rica Paras has a strong fan base but it turned out to be the weakest as compared to the other nominees for eviction. She got a tallied percentage of +10.37 which unfortunately was still lower (just slight) than the votes in favor of Sam Pinto, Johan Santos and Paul Jake Castillo.

Isa kasi sa twist ng Starstruck V ang automatic elimination sa contender na mapapasama sa Bottom 3 for three times. But I'm hoping na sana he'd stay longer in the competition pa.

For now, my current favorites in Starstruck V are Rocco Nacino, Nina Kodaka, Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba, Piero Vergara and Ian Batherson. Pero posible pa 'tong magbago every week especially that patindi nang patindi ang mga test sa kanila.

Major changes on 'Wowowee'

As promised by its host Willie Revillame last year, there are major changes on ABS-CBN's "Wowowee" this 2010.

It already started earlier for its 1st episode this 2009.

Like ko 'yung "Tic Tac To Million" na pumalit sa nakakabore na "Want More No More". Sa game na 'to, may video ng mga celebrity na sasagot sa mga question at huhulaan ng studio players if "tumpak" o "sablay" ang kanilang sagot. It's now easier to collect money in this game and win other big prizes such as the 1 Million Pesos, Brand New Car and House & Lot.

Pero I didn't like the "Samson, Lion at Delilah" which replaced the more entertaining "Hep Hep Hooray!".

Andun pa rin ang "Willie of Fortune", "Cash Mo 'To" at "Cash Bukas" portions.

Major changes nga ba ang naganap sa Wowowee kanina? 'Coz they forgot to change the show's opening na walang ibang tinutugtog kundi mga kanta ni Willie and of course, ang walang sawang pagkanta ni Willie ng kanyang kanta before the "Willie of Fortune" segment.

I am really one of those who switch channels whenever kakanta si Willie. His songs are great but I'd rather hear it always on the radio than see him sing everyday on Wowowee.

Start pa lang ng 2010 and I hope they can still change some parts of the show, especially now na nagdidelikado sila dahil sa success ng "Showtime" which is shown before Wowowee.

Speaking of "Showtime", ito kaya ang dahilan kung bakit nawala na sa
ere ang 8-year-old na "SiS" ng GMA 7?

Ayon kasi sa chikka, tinapos na raw ito dahil sa hindi na kagandahang ratings at hindi na makahabol sa competition.

Nag-final episode na ito kanina at starting on Monday, "Kapuso Movie Festival" ang papalit dito kung saan iba't ibang Pinoy movies ang mapapanood.

Previous MMFF entries like "Exodus", "Desperadas 2" and "Anak ng Kumander" will be shown next week on GMA 7's Kapuso Movie Festival.
