David Archuleta was spotted on Saturday night at New York's famous gay
night club called 'CLUB 57' and it sparked 'gay rumors' for the
American Idol Season 7 Runner Up.

Some malicious people have quickly concluded that David is indeed gay
just because he was seen there. But David has quickly defended
himself, saying that he was there not to party but to watch Filipino
singing sensation Charice, who happens to be his close friend.

Yes, our very own Charice was there to perform 'Pyramid' which
according to her, it's #7 on Billboard Dance Remix and she was invited
to promote at Club 57. Then she brought up friend David with her.

On David's official Twitter page, he clarified things up. He tweets,
"Hey guys just wanted to clear something up real quick lol. Last night
in New York, I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform..."

"Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn't my kind
of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn. The
upside was that Charice was awesome. and she has an incredible voice.
Hope that clear things up! Can get crazy quick. No worries all, I
wouldn't get into things like that intentionally haha," he said.

Then David went on to praise Charice for apologizing to him even if
she didn't have to. "Charice is great and she didn't mean to do cause
any harm haha. She apologized a lot after. She's way nice!!"

But some people from the gay community have reacted on David's tweet.
Some are accusing him that David has problems with the gays and the
tweets sounded to them as if Club 57 is the worst place to go to.

David again defended himself and tweeted, "I have friends who are gay,
and they're great people. Whether they're gay or not doesn't change
how I think of them. I have nothing against anyone. I'm sorry if
that's how it came across. I'm just not into the partying scene."
