Rica Paras is the latest evictee of PBB Double Up

Posted by  Admin  on January 2, 2010  at 11:33 PM

It was not a good New Year's gift for the transgender housemate of PBB Double Up when she got evicted on the 2nd day of the New Year 2010.

Rica Paras has a strong fan base but it turned out to be the weakest as compared to the other nominees for eviction. She got a tallied percentage of +10.37 which unfortunately was still lower (just slight) than the votes in favor of Sam Pinto, Johan Santos and Paul Jake Castillo.

Here's the actual results last night:

VOTES TO SAVE (VTS):
1. Sam 22.65%
2. Johan 21.22%
3. Paul Jake 16.13%
4. Rica 15.79%< VOTES TO EVICT (VTE):
1. Johan 7.74%
2. Sam 7.48%
3. Rica 5.42%
4. Paul Jake 3.57%

VTS LESS VTE:
1. Sam 15.16%
2. Johan 13.47%
3. Paul Jake 12.55%
4. Rica 10.37%

After tonight's eviction, it only proved that Sam and Johan are possible Big 4 housemates alongside the Melason loveteam.

Starstruck finalists gone sexy for a 2010 calendar

Posted by  Admin  on    at 3:17 PM

Mamayang gabi na ipapakita 'yung photo shoot ng Starstruck Top 10 finalists with ace photographer Jun De Leon para sa first ever Starstruck 2010 Calendar.

It's actually the week's test for the contenders and will definitely influence the results of the elimination which happens tomorrow on Starstruck Live.

As what is shown in this blurred picture, the boys had to pose shirtless during the photo shoot which excites Starstruck fanatics.

Sino kaya aangat sa kanila?

Among the boys, I am expecting Ian Batherson (photo above) to stand out in the photo shoot kasi may experience na siya in posing sexy for Cosmo Magazine as one of the 69 Bachelors for 2009.

At sana makatulong din ito for Ian para hindi siya ma-eliminate automatically tomorrow if it happens na nasa Bottom 3 na naman siya.

Isa kasi sa twist ng Starstruck V ang automatic elimination sa contender na mapapasama sa Bottom 3 for three times. But I'm hoping na sana he'd stay longer in the competition pa.

For now, my current favorites in Starstruck V are Rocco Nacino, Nina Kodaka, Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba, Piero Vergara and Ian Batherson.

Major changes on 'Wowowee'

Posted by  Admin  on January 1, 2010  at 7:36 PM

As promised by its host Willie Revillame last year, there are major changes on ABS-CBN's "Wowowee" this 2010.

It already started earlier for its 1st episode this 2009.

Like ko 'yung "Tic Tac To Million" na pumalit sa nakakabore na "Want More No More". It's now easier to collect money in this game and win other big prizes such as the 1 Million Pesos, Brand New Car and House & Lot.

Pero I didn't like the "Samson, Lion at Delilah" which replaced the more entertaining "Hep Hep Hooray!".

Andun pa rin ang "Willie of Fortune", "Cash Mo 'To" at "Cash Bukas" portions.

'Coz they forgot to change the show's opening na walang ibang tinutugtog kundi mga kanta ni Willie and of course, ang walang sawang pagkanta ni Willie ng kanyang kanta before the "Willie of Fortune" segment.

I am really one of those who switch channels whenever kakanta si Willie. His songs are great but I'd rather hear it always on the radio than see him sing everyday on Wowowee.

Start pa lang ng 2010 and I hope they can still change some parts of the show, especially now na nagdidelikado sila dahil sa success ng "Showtime" which is shown before Wowowee.

***

Previous MMFF entries like "Exodus", "Desperadas 2" and "Anak ng Kumander" will be shown next week on GMA 7's Kapuso Movie Festival.

35th MMFF Boxoffice as of Dec. 30

Posted by  Admin  on December 31, 2009  at 9:46 PM

"Ang Panday" has recovered slightly during its run from Days 5 to 6 (December 29-30, 2009). Thanks to its Best Picture award last December 28 'coz it somehow helped the movie earn more millions and grab #1 spot in the overall rankings.

But performing better during the last 4 days of the festival is "I Love You Goodbye" which is earning more than any of the entries lately. However, because of the weight of the earnings during the first two days, the movie is still #4 when it comes to the total 6-day earnings.

Jackie Rice, FHM Philippines, January 2010

From one men's magazine to another...

After shedding off her sweet image in Maxim Magazine last July 2009, here's Jackie Rice again in a sexy pose this time on FHM Philippines' cover for January 2010.

Jackie Rice, who was Starstruck Season 3 Ultimate Female Survivor, is expected to shine brighter in 2010. Jackie is presently cast as Babaeng Demonyita on GMA 7's hit fantasy series "Darna" and in 2010, she is set to do "Panday Kids" and "Encantandia: The Second Saga".

'Ang Darling Kong Aswang' continues to lead MMFF '09 boxoffice

Posted by  Admin  on    at 11:25 AM

After four days, Vic Sotto starrer "Ang Darling Kong Aswang" is still leading in the boxoffice rankings for the official entries of MMFF 2009.

As of December 28, 2009, the movie now has a cumulative gross earnings of 44.625 million pesos.

But the APT Entertainment/Octo Arts Films produced movie should not celebrate early victory for this one, because the current 2nd to 4th placers in the ranking could possibly grab the top spot at any moment.

During Day 1, "Aswang" was in 2nd place, then went to #1 on Day 2 but dropped to #3 in both Day 3 and 4. But because of the large number it hauled in the first two days, the movie is still leading when all of the earnings from Day 1 to 4 are totaled.

In close second as of Monday was GMA Films/Imus Productions co-prod "Ang Panday" which has just over one million peso difference from "Aswang". Its day-by-day ranking in the last four days: #1 on Day 1, #3 on Day 2, #2 on Day 3 and #4 on Day 4.

Still on third spot is "Shake, Rattle & Roll XI" under Regal Films. It ranked #3 on first day, then #2 on the 2nd day, down to #4 on Day 3 but recovered to #2 on Day 4.

The biggest mover as of this moment is the Star Cinema entry "I Love You Goodbye". The total gross for this PG-13 movie is over 38 million pesos, which is still lower than the three above-mentioned G-rated movies. But this movie is showing strongly during Day 3 and Day 4. It only ranked during the first two days, but it is earning the highest during the 3rd and 4th days.

If the trend continues, we shall see "ILYG" and SRR11" on the first two slots while "Aswang" and "Panday" occupy the 3rd and 4th slots when the MMFF 2009 ends on January 7, 2010.

As for the other three entries, "Mano Po 6" and "Nobody, Noboy But Juan" are switching places while "Wapakman" is still a low-earner: P750,000 on Day 1, P650,000 on Day 2, P317,000 on Day 3 and P194,000 on Day 4.

Here's Mykiru's exclusive day-by-day boxoffice analysis for the MMFF 2009:

PBB housemates turned crossdressers

Posted by  Admin  on December 30, 2009  at 2:18 PM

Eto pa ang ibang mga housemates and decide who's the most handsome and most beautiful of them all:

GIRLS TURNED BOYS

Melai

Kath

Sam

Cathy

Mariel

BOYS TURNED GIRLS

Tibo

Jason

Paul Jake

Johan

Hermes

Salamat sa mga PEXers na sina idolleng, segway23 at chynnablue567 for the great screencaps!

***

'Melason' loveteam boosts PBB weekday ratings

Posted by  Admin  on    at 11:05 AM

Apart from being the new primetime ruler during weekends, ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Double Up is now slowly conquering the primetime ratings race during weekdays.

According to the AGB Mega Manila Ratings released for December 28, 2009 (Monday), PBB Double Up is #1 again, beating GMA 7's "Darna" which was a consistent toprater.

PBB generated that night a ratings of 30.8% as against Darna with a very close 30.6%.

The episode shown then was the 100-second moment of Jason Francisco with her lola. It was actually a treat for the "Melason" loveteam because Melai Cantiveros was also there with Jason and his grandma.

The Top 5 primetime programs during that day were: 1. PBB Double Up (ABS-CBN) 30.8% 2. Darna (GMA) 30.6% 3. Full House (GMA) 29.7% 4. May Bukas Pa (ABS-CBN) 29.4% 5. 24 Oras (GMA) 28.9%

It's now the 5th time that PBB Double Up has ruled the primetime race in Mega Manila.

***

The first one was in December 8, 2009 when model Rocky Salumbides opted for a voluntary exit. The episode garnered 33.6%, which remains to be the show's highest ratings so far.

For the second time on December 22, 2009, PBB topped again with the episode showing the breakdown of Rica Paras and Sam Pinto during their Christmas Ball and of course, the romantic date of Melason loveteam on a ferris wheel.

Top 5 Primetime Programs for December 22: 1. PBB Double Up (ABS-CBN) 31.5% 2. Darna (GMA) 30.5% 3. May Bukas Pa (ABS-CBN) 29.0% 4. Full House (GMA) 28.5% 5. Dahil May Isang Ikaw (ABS-CBN) 27.3%.

And on December 23 and 24, when some of the households were not at home and busy for the Christmas rush, PBB managed to pull in ratings good enough for the #1 spot.

It was the time when "Super G" Annina Ucatis arrived from Germany to celebrate her birthday and Christmas with the Filipino housemates.

Dec 23 Top 5: 1. PBB Double Up (ABS-CBN) 30.7% 2. 24 Oras (GMA) 27.3% 3. Darna (GMA) 27.1% 4. May Bukas Pa (ABS-CBN) 26.8% 5. Dahil May Isang Ikaw (ABS-CBN) 26.6%

Dec 24 Christmas Eve Top 5: 1. PBB Double Up (ABS-CBN) 25.5% 2. Darna (GMA) 24.3% 3. May Bukas Pa (ABS-CBN) 24.2% 4. Full House (GMA) 24.0% 5. 24 Oras and Sana Ngayong Pasko (GMA) 23.9% 5.

***

Some PBB followers are requesting if they could minimize the exposure of the Melason loveteam. According to them, Melai and Jason are not the only housemates of PBB Double Up.

But we cannot blame the people behind PBB if they continually show moments of Melason loveteam almost everyday because of the "high ratings" it draws for the show.

If I were to ask, I would love to see them everyday because of the great entertainment they bring to me. "Nakakawalang-antok" is the best word to describe them.

Taylot Swift's 'Love Story' claims #1 spot on MYX Yearend Chart

Posted by  Admin  on December 29, 2009  at 12:29 PM

2009 is indeed a breakthrough year for a lot of artists in the Philippines' MYX Hit Chart, a countdown for both OPM and foreign songs.

Most of the artists who made it in the year-end Top 20 chart were newbies preventing others, most especially the local artists, to hit top spots.

On top of them all is two-time Entertainer of the Year (2009) awardee Taylor Swift who has two songs in the year-end countdown: "Love Story" at #1 spot and "You Belong With Me" at #5. After all the many blessings of Swift this 2009, this is another good thing for her to end the year.

Another breakthrough star Justin Bieber follows Taylor at #2 with his debut single "One Time" while three Korean pop groups amazingly secured their own respective spots in the countdown.

David Cook won the American Idol last year, but it's only in 2009 that he made a great debut on MYX countdown.

Among the local artists, Hale and SpongeCola still remain as the most favored groups on MYX. For the 5th consecutive year, the two groups have their own entries in the MYX Top 20 YearEnd Chart.

While Sarah Geronimo, who topped the Pinoy MYX Yearend chart with the song "You Changed My Life", is the only OPM artist this year to make it to the Top 10 of MYX Hit Chart Yearend.

It is already her 4th consecutive time in the yearend countdown. Last year, she was on top of it with the single "A Very Special Love".

1. Love Story - Taylor Swift

Bong Revilla wins Best Actor in the MMFF 2009

Posted by  Admin  on December 28, 2009  at 11:58 PM

In the recently concluded Awards Night of MMFF 2009, Sharon Cuneta was Best Actress for Mano Po 6 while ex-husband Gabby Concepcion lost to Sen. Bong Revilla for "Ang Panday".

It's the first time that the Megastar has won as Best Actress in a Metro Manila Film Festival. In 2003, she won a special awards as Best Actress for "Crying Ladies" in MMFF, but it was voted by the public.

Sen. Bong's victory was somehow expected, as well as that of his co-star Phillip Salvador who won as Best Supporting Actor. It's Phillip's 2nd consecutive year to win the same award. Last year, he won for the movie "Baler". While it was a first for Sen. Bong, who has been in the biz for 26 years.

MMFF actually has a history of giving "first" for many actors and actresses. In 2007, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada also won his first Best Actor award for the movie "Katas ng Saudi".

After the awards night, Sen. Bong said he owed his victory to the multi-awarded Phillip Salvador because the latter coached him how to portray his role in the movie.

Heart Evangelista, who played Sharon Cuneta's daughter in "Mano Po 6", was the Best Supporting Actress.

Just like Phillip, "Ang Panday" child star Robert "Buboy" Villar also won his 2nd consecutive Best Child Performer award from the MMFF. Last year, Buboy won for "Shake, Rattle & Roll X".

Congrats to all the acting awardees of this year's MMFF.

Heart Evangelista is MMFF 2009 Best Supporting Actress

Posted by  Admin  on    at 11:27 PM

The role originally intended for Angel Locsin has won for Heart Evangelista a Best Festival Supporting Actress award in the 34th MMFF (2009) Awards Night held earlier at the SMX Convention Center.

Heart won for her in-depth acting in the movie "Mano Po 6" beating other nominees such as her co-star Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kim Chiu for "I Love You Goodbye", Agot Isidro for "Ang Darling Kong Aswang" and Rhian Ramos for "Ang Panday".

It's indeed a blessed 2009 for Heart who already received her first Best Actress award from Urian FAMAS 3rd quarter this year. And before the year ends, here's Heart celebrating again for another hard-earned victory.

Congrats Heart!

Sarah Geronimo tops Pinoy MYX Year-End Countdown for 2009

Posted by  Admin  on    at 2:24 PM

Sarah Geronimo is once again on top of Pinoy MYX Year-End Countdown.

Last year, she topped the OPM Year-End chart with the song "A Very Special Love" which was also the #1 song of the year in the MYX Hit Chart Yearend Countdown 2008, which counted down the most requested videos, both foreign and local, for 2008.

This time, Sarah has proven her prowess once more as her song "You Changed My Life in a Moment" is the #1 song/video in the Pinoy MYX Year-End chart.

The song was also the theme song for the #1 blockbuster of 2009, You Changed My Life, which paired Sarah with John Lloyd Cruz.

Hayden Kho Jr named "Videographer of the Year"

Posted by  Admin  on    at 1:18 PM

Super laugh ako sa "Kamoteng Kahoy Awards" ni Ricky Lo for The Philippine Star. Big winners kasi ang three most controversial stars of 2009 na sina Hayden Kho Jr, Katrina Halili at maging ang nananahimik na si Maricar Reyes.

It's published today on Ricky Lo's column and winning as Videographer of the Year is no less than my favorite topic for the year, Hayden Kho Jr.

While Katrina Halili is amusingly the recipient of "The Victim and the Victimizer Award".

Maricar Reyes, the incidental star in the said sex video scandal, deservingly named "The Silent One" of 2009.

Eto po 'yung mga nanalo sa "Kamoteng Kahoy Awards" with the reasons why they won the awards {as published on The Philippine Star, Entertainment Section, December 28, 2009}:

Hayden Kho, Videographer of the Year (trophy is a replica of a miniature videocam with a silencer).

Katrina Halili, The Victim (of Hayden) and Victimizer (of Dr. Vicki Belo) Award (trophy is shaped like the UP Oblation that looks like Hayden with his “honor” dangling).

Maricar Reyes, The Silent One Award for not breathing a word about what happened (tie with Katrina with the two of them fondling the trophy with tender loving care).

Ruffa Gutierrez and John Lloyd Cruz, co-recipients of The “Ingat” Award because they’ve been so very maingat with whatever it is between them (the trophy is in the form of a Biogesic pill which the “special friends” will split and swallow before they deliver their joint thank-you speech).

Rufa Mae Quinto, The Blabbermouth Award because she spilled more beans than she should about her love life and her impending marriage to the man she referred to as the one who gifted her with a house in San Francisco (trophy is shaped like giant lips that talk and talk and talk, battery included).

Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, Bride and Groom of the Year (hoy, kelan ba talaga ang kasal? Naunahan na tuloy kayo nina Michelle at Mark). Trophy is formed like a wedding cake topped by a pair of cute newly-weds with lips locked in a passionate kiss.

Robin Padilla, Desirable Bachelor of the Year Award because, two years after he and wife Liezl Sicangco have divorced (Liezl has remarried), he is quietly searching for a simple girl with the same faith and purpose in life as he has. Trophy is made to look like a kangaroo, the national symbol of Australia where Liezl and their children are staying.

Joel Cruz, The Guts and Glory Award because he won hands-down (really!?!) the GMA “talent” search Celebrity Duets (trophy is made to look like Vice Presidentiable Bayani Fernando, the previous year’s Celebrity winner, who will hand it to Joel in a tear-drenched ceremony).

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, The Brangelina Award because they are like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who have been living together (complete with a child of their own) without “officially” admitting that they are “on.” (The trophy, one side of which looks like Marimar and the other side Dyesebel, will be handed by Rhian Ramos who will plant a kiss on Dingdong and only give Marian a “meaningful” glance.)

Dr. Manny Calayan, “Songer” of the Year Award (listen to his CD and you will know why). Trophy is shaped like a wireless microphone which Calayan will handle with care as he sheds tears.

Krista Ranillo, The Pambansang (fill in the blank) Award. No explanation needed. The Pacman Trophy will be handed to her by Jinkee Pacquiao.

Sharon and Gabby as MMFF 2009 Best Actress and Best Actor?

Posted by  Admin  on    at 12:32 PM

Malakas ang bulung-bulongan na diumano'y sure winner na ang dating mag-asawang sina Sharon Cuneta at Gabby Concepcion as Festival Actress and Festival Actor sa gaganaping 34th Metro Manila Film Festival {MMFF} Gabi ng Parangal 2009 mamayang gabi sa SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Si Sharon ay bida sa A-graded Regal Films entry na Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love while ex-hubby Gabby leads the cast of the Star Cinema film I Love You Goodbye which has just been Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

Malaking balita nga naman if magkahanay na tatanghaling winners sina Sharon at Gabby.

If ever man na manalo ang dalawa ay wala naman sigurong magpo-protesta dahil deserving naman sila to receive the awards.

Sharon's closest competitor in the Best Actress category is Angelica Panganiban, who happens to be Gabby's leading lady in I Love You Goodbye.

Sa Festival Supporting Actress category, mahigpit na magkakalaban sina Zsa Zsa Padilla and Heart Evangelista for Mano Po 6 at Kim Chiu for I Love You Goodbye. Either of the three will win.

Ang last year's Festival Supporting Actor winner na si Phillip Salvador pa rin ang matunog na magwawagi this year in the same category para sa kanyang devilish role in "Ang Panday".

But Dennis Trillo winning another Best Supporting Actor award from the MMFF is also a big possibility. He already won the same award for his remarkable role in "Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita" 5 years ago.

Or if not Phillip or Dennis, veteran actor Eddie Garcia could bring home the award.

Listed below are this year's nominees for the MMFF 2009 Awards Night happening later. Good thing that they have already trimmed down the nominees unlike in the previos years when most of the characters in the movie were nominated.

Exciting lineup of nominees for eviction on PBB Double Up

Posted by  Admin  on December 27, 2009  at 11:54 PM

Transsexual Rica Paras, model Sam Pinto, richy chinito Paul Jake
Castillo and working student Johan Santos form part this week's new set of nominees for eviction on Saturday, the 2nd day of the New Year 2010.

Both Rica and Sam are 2nd time nominees while the two boys are first timers, making the nex evictee very unpredictable. But I must say, this is by far the most exciting lineup of nominees this season because all four have their respective solid fan base.

Rica got the highest number of nods with at total 11 points coming from 6 housemates, including 3 points from Johan who was "kulelat" during the Head of Households {HOH} battle and was obliged to nominate someone face to face. In the past three weeks, both the 3-point giver and received composed the official nominees, such as Carol Batay-Hermes Bautista, Cathy Remperas-Patrick Villanueva and now, Rica-Johan. Incidentally, Carol and Patrick were evicted from the house. Is the next evicted either between Rica or Johan? We'll see...

WHO NOMINATED RICA: Johan, Cathy, Mariel, Paul Jake, Kath and Tibo
WHO NOMINATED SAM: Cathy, Mariel, Paul Jake and Melisa
WHO NOMINATED JOHAN: Hermes, Melisa and Tibo
WHO NOMINATED PAUL JAKE: Hermes and Sam

By far, Melisa 'Melai' Cantiveros is the only housemate of PBB Double Up who is yet to experience facing the danger of being evicted from the PBB house.

Sef Cadayona eliminated from Starstruck V

Posted by  Admin  on    at 8:32 PM

The dancer/commercial model from Las PiƱas has been eliminated from Starstruck V earlier.

Sef Cadayona, the familiar face in the Korneto TV commercials, was booted out of the competition and lost the chance to be part of the Starstruck Survivor 10. But he took it positively and was all smiles when he waved goodbye to the audience.

Included in the Bottom 3 were Princess Snell and Rox Montealegre. It was Princess' 2nd time and a first for Rox in the Bottom 3. One more time for Princess, she'll be automatically eliminated.

Aside from Princess, also in danger of being eliminated automatically next week is Ian Batherson, who was in the Bottom 3 during the first two eliminations. But he was competing str0ngly in the past 2 weeks. Hope it continues next week especially that their next test is posing sexy for a 2010 calendar. Hmmm, which I think will be in favor of Ian who already posed for Cosmo Magazine as one of the 69 Hot Bachelors
last September.

Three special awards were also handed out tonight, which were based on the Kissflicks they did yesterday. Best Kiss went to Princess and Rocco Nacino, who was also awarded Director's Choice for Best Actor. While the emotional Diva Montelaba was the Best Actress.

With these two new awards for Rocco, he's proving that he's indeed the one to beat this season. In the previous weeks, he won Best Male Performer in a Music Video and Best Male Dance Performer.

ABS-CBN is helping promote GMA-produced 'Ang Panday'

Posted by  Admin  on    at 7:20 PM

It's nice that ABS-CBN has allowed 'Ang Panday' star Ramon 'Bong' Revilla to promote his movie in the Kapamilya network kahit na GMA-produced ito.

Earlier nasa 'The Buzz' si Senator Bong at last Thursday, live din siyang napanood sa
'Showtime'.

I Love You Goodbye' which stars Gabby Concepcion and Angelica Panganiban?

The Buzz at TV Patrol World.

As of latest boxoffice tally ay #1 ang 'Ang Panday' while 4th lang ang 'I Love You Goodbye'.

Love Thadani is Bro of 'May Bukas Pa'

The very popular 'Bro' of the hit ABS-CBN teleserye 'May Bukas Pa' is finally revealed!

He is no less than Fil-Indian-Italian Love Thadani, who was first known on TV as the ex-boyfriend of Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemate Chx Alcala.

What a bro!

Now we know that just like any other people, 'bro' could also be hot and sexy.

That also disproves rumors that Bro, Kuya of Pinoy Big Brother and Banker of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal are just one and the same. But still, many believe that the voices of Bro in May Bukas Pa and of Big Brother are from one person only.

For almost a year, since the soap premiered early February 2009, Bro's identity has been a top secret, but with this fresh photo of Love Thadani as Bro and Zaijan Jaranilla as Santino, there's no other way to hide it. After all, 'May Bukas Pa' is about to end in March 2010.

Love Thadani is a model and also an actor who had a short role in the 2008 indie film "Condo" starring Coco Martin.

Enjoy these great photos of Love Thadani (Thanks to Brian Philip!):
