Charmers Andre Endique and Ralph Almeda

Andre Alejandro Endique is the featured "Cute Guy" on MEG's August 2009 issue.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HIM: This cutie has played the boy-next door in numerous ads including the Coca-Cola commercial where he flashed his pearly whites in suspended motion (giving his fans more time to focus on his good looks). He also helped out a gal pick up her loose change in a Ponds TVC and swindled a girl off eating the last fry in KFC’s bucket of fries.

DETERMINED ANDRE: You’d think that with his good looks, Andre would have everything served to him on a silver platter, but the aspiring young model admits he got his roles through non-stop VTRs and auditions. From all his hard work, Andre has also learned that “Life’s too short to be crying over spilt milk. I’ve had to learn that lesson a few times but now I know that it’s better to understand why unfortunate things have happened and grow from it.”

SEARCHING FOR THE ONE: Although he has the looks and stature of a model, Andre puts a lot more priority on a person’s character, he says “I like a girl with depth, someone that I can share deep meaningful moments with as well as someone with a sense of humor.”

BIG DREAMER: Going to the shoot by his lonesome, Andre appeared confident and friendly. At such a young age, he’s already developed a sense of independence and responsibility that makes him all the more endearing. When asked what’s his greatest goal in life, Andre answers, “To make sure that I carry my family name in honor in such a way that when I pass away, people will remember me as a good and honorable person.”

Just like Katrina Halili on Cosmo cover for July 2009, it's so refreshing to see Cristine Reyes as cover girl for Cosmopolitan this August 2009.

Cristine has just been named the Sexiest Woman in the Philippines for 2009 by FHM.

Last week, Cristine just renewed her contract with ABS-CBN after being rumored of going back to GMA 7.

She is set to do Cristine Reyes series, one for Your Song Presents and a new teleserye.

Also in the August 2009 issue of Cosmo is "Fernando Jose" Geoff Eigenmann.

Katrina Halili, the most watched accidental porn star

Katrina Halili is once again covering up a fashion magazine after her Cosmo cover last month.

The "Rosalinda" star who used to pose for men's magazine before the famous scandal rocked the world last May is slowly re-inventing herself now, by avoiding to pose for any men's magazine (at least for the moment).

MEGA Magazine has Katrina Halili on its August 2009 issue and there you can read Katrina being described as the Philippines' most watched accidental porn star.

Kim Chiu returns to MEG

After posing as cover girl with Enchong Dee on MEG last February 2009, Kim Chiu comes back on MEG's cover for its August 2009 issue.

In the latest issue, Kim dishes out about her dream roles, her unexpected success in showbiz, her showbiz idol and more.

Kim reveals she'd like to do roles ala Angelina Jolie, or portray as a heroine.

It's interesting to note that Kim looks up to Miss Judy Ann Santos whom she has yet to work with. This is already the second time she mentioned Judy Ann as her idol in showbiz.

I wonder why she never considered Claudine Barretto whom she worked with in "Maligno" as her showbiz idol.

Did you expect to get this big when you won PBB?
Hindi, pero pinangarap ko naman talaga makuha tong malalaking projects kasi lahat naman siguro ng mga artista pangarap maging successful sa industry na to. Kasama naman yun sa mga prayers ko, tapos ayun nagkatotoo naman siya.

So what do you think your edge is?
Ako siguro gusto ko lang talaga, pangarap ko lang talaga makita sa TV [at] yun pa rin nakatatak sa isip ko kaya kailangan ko talagang galingan. Kailangan ko talagang gandahan yung mga performances ko para next time nasa TV ako ulit, parang ganun. Yun talaga iniisip ko. Ganun lang kasimple kaya mahal na mahal ko yung trabaho ko, kaya masayang masaya ako kapag umaarte ako, kapag sumasayaw ako. Masaya talaga ako kapag napapasaya ko yung ibang tao.

You’ve done several roles over the years, from being a comedic actress to your mature role in Tayong Dalawa, are there any other roles you want to do?
Marami. Gusto ko may mga kambal ako pero ako pa rin gagawa, pero iba-iba ugali. Gusto ko may powers-powers tsaka yung may action. Yung may hawak kang baril. Gusto ko yung mga ganun! Something na hindi ini-expect ng mga tao. Gusto ko parang si Angelina Jolie.

But is there anybody in the local industry you look up to?
Si Judy Ann [Santos], si Judy Ann talaga. Kasi parang ang successful niya kasi kahit ang tagal niya ng artista mahal pa rin siya ng mga tao.

Marvin Kiefer, castaway, Survivor Philippines Palau

Marvin Kiefer from Cagayan de Oro City is one of the castaways on GMA 7's Survivor Philippines Palau.

At 18, he is actually the youngest castaway this season.

Keifer is a Filipino-German born in Switzerland and raised in the Philippines.

This model hunk is a very sporty and adventurous guy as he loves volleyball football, table tennis, skateboarding, wall-climbing, etc.

Marvin appeared on TV 5's "Flo", a teen show which he co-hosted with Odessa Fernandez and Dianne Medina.

A favorite on print ads, Marvin was one of Chalk Mag's 50 Hottest Guys for 2008 and is currently one of the nominees for Candy Cuties 2009.

Marvin is being managed by Raven Models, the same agency who manages models like Luke Jickain, Trishan Cuaso, Marco Odejar and Mark Onir.

Willie Revillame says sorry to the Aquino family

Willie Revillame was harshly criticized last Monday after being vocal on his show Wowowee that he was uncomfortable with the live feed of Cory Aquino's funeral march which was happening simultaneously with his show, most especially with the "Willie of Fortune" segment that day.

On air, Willie ordered the outright removal of the funeral procession's live streaming.

“Ano ba yan!!! Kung gusto n’yo pakita ‘yan, ‘yan na lang. Kung ako, ako lang. Nagsasaya kami dito sa show na 'to. Ayusin nyo yan!," Willie caught saying on TV.

Willie actually had a point. What he wanted was to cut the show off, so they could show the live streaming of the funeral march, just like what happened before on different instances (for example the release of a Red Cross who was held captive by the Abu Sayaff).

Maybe, the on-air request of Willie wasn't unacceptable for some televiewers.

Earlier on his show that day, prior to that incident, Willie sang a song dedicated to Tita Cory.

Then yesterday, still on Wowowee, maybe after realizing somehow he offended the Aquino family and supporters, Willie apologized to those who were hurt with his previous statement.

“Sa sitwasyon na ito, kung may nasaktan ako, I’m sorry. Sa pamilya Aquino, alam ng buong pamilya Aquino, wala akong masamang intensyon doon,” he said.

He also explained that it was so uncomfortable for him to provide some laughter on the show while the funeral procession was also being shown.

With this, Joey De Leon, who's the #1 critic of Willie, reportedly fuming with anger once more at Willie.

Joey will for sure give his reaction on the issue this Saturday on his show Startalk.

International star Charice, not allowed to see Tita Cory at the Manila Cathedral

Fresh from a commercial shoot, international star Charice went straight early this morning to the funeral of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino to see her for the last time.

But the moment she and her mother Raquel stepped at the Manila Cathedral's entrance, she was barred by the security officers from going near the altar and told her she could no longer view Tita Cory's remains because the preparations for the requiem mass scheduled at 9:00 AM has already started.

Lea Navarro, who was manning the secretariat, was asking for Charice's understanding of the reason why they could no longer allow her to come near to Tita Cory.

Charice and her mom just left the Manila Cathedral and was assured that the committee will inform the Aquino family, especially Kris who's close to Charice, of her visit.

Earlier today, at around 5:00 AM, the public viewing was stopped to give way for the funeral rites preparations.

Charice was one of the names suggested to sing yesterday during the necrological service for Mrs. Aquino, but she was not available to give a performance.

Reports said that Charice arrived in the country last Monday.

Miss Philippines - Subic wins Best National Costume @ Miss GBQ 2009

Kimberly Ann Brandon won Best in National Costume in the Miss Global Beauty Queen 2009 pageant held last Saturday in Daqing, China.

She represented Subic - Philippines in the said pageant, which was actually a joint contest for Miss Global Beauty Queen 2009 and Miss International Beauty Pageant 2009.

The Philippines was represented in the Miss International Beauty by Maria Elena Lopeña from Manila, who went on to bag the Miss Talent award.

Last Sunday, I've given you the initial results of the two pageants and now, Mykiru first got hold of the full official results for the said joint pageants in China.

Mr. International Philippines 2009 Screening

Due to bad weather last Saturday, only ten (10) auditioned for Mister International Philippines screening held at the 360 Resto Bar in A. Venue Mall.

And judging at the photos of the applicants during the go-see, it seems like the pageant organizers did not have a hard time screening the 10 guys.
