Face Off: Hayden Kho and Edison Chen

Hayden Kho and Edison Chen are now described as Asia's Scandal Kings.

But who will reign supreme? Who's hotter of the two?

Definitely, both of them are considered "hot" as far as their scandals are concerned.

Early 2008, Hong Kong's Edison Koon-Hei Chen, a popular singer-actor-model and one of E! Sexiest Men in the World, hit it big time when his collection of racy photos with at least 14 past-and-present girlfriends, who were also famous celebrities, circulated on the internet.

At least ten people were punished for illegally distributing Edison Chen's photos on the net.

Edison Chen's photo scandal did not only make news in Hong Kong but in other parts of the world as well.

For the record, there were about 1,300 leaked private photos of Chen and several women.

Some of the women identified were Bobo Chan (photo below), Gillian Chung, Candice Chan, Rachel Ngan, Mandy Chen, Cecilia Cheung, Vincy Yeung and even Maggie Q.

It's by far considered as Asia's largest sex photo scandal ever.

And this year, since last month, another Asian-sounding name is making his mark on the internet via his s-x video collections with different celebrities.

Hayden Kho Jr., a doctor turned actor in the Philippines, has been identified as the guy in various sex videos also with several women such as Pinay sexy actress Katrina Halili, another Filipino model/actress and a still unidentified Brazilian model.

Kho has admitted he owns those videos but denied spreading those on the internet.

Until now, the person or people involved in downloading the videos on the net have not yet been fully identified nor punished.

It has rocked the whole Philippines and has become a national issue especially after Senator Bong Revilla tackled the issue via a privilege speech at the Philippine Senate.

Unlike in Edison Chen's case by which authorities concentrated more on going after the people who downloaded the photos, Filipino officials have been more rigorous in probing for Hayden Kho and want him punished for violating the rights of women.

As of latest development, Philippines' National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has already filed a case against Hayden Kho.

Just like the Edison Chen scandal, the Hayden Kho video scandal has already caught the attention of those outside Asia.

The Hollywood Reporter, an entertainment news website in the US, has already reported about it last June 2.

Patrick Frater, a veteran entertainment journalist, says that the Philippines has already been gripped by a monthlong celebrity sex scandal that has touched the film industry, disgraced politicians and driven up TV ratings.

He also said that the Hayden scandals remind him of Edison scandals.

It seems like the Hayden Kho scandal is fast becoming as Asia's biggest sex video scandal ever.

It sounds funny but many believe that Hayden and Edison are soulmates.

Other than the fact they are both "stars" in their own scandals, they were both born in 1980 (Year of the Monkey).

The Billys (Alvarez, Kulish and Kuwalik) are all Best Actors at the Tony's.

Billy Elliot: The Musical was the biggest winner during the 63rd Annual Tony Awards held Sunday, June 7, live at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Billy Elliot won a total of 10 awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor and Best Direction.

'Ayt' makes strong debut

The first ever collaboration of SpongeCola and Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. is making a strong debut on OPM MYX Countdown this week.

For its first week in the chart, the song 'Ayt' is already at #6 and might be on top anytime soon.

Probably, the song's launch at ABS-CBN's Wowowee last May 16 has helped a lot and much more the music video launch during the the Anniversary of Magnet High Street last May 22.

In the MYX Hit Chart however, with both foreign and local songs, 'Ayt' is at #19, only behind other new entries from foreign artists such as 'White Horse' by Taylor Swift and 'Touch My Hand' by David Archuleta.

Charice's Always You, which made a debut at #20 last week, is up 5 notches and could possible steal momentum from Sarah Geronimo whose song You Changed My Life In A Moment drops from #10 to #11.

Sarah's song however is still strong on that position considering it's now enjoying its 18th week in the countdown. Wow, that's over four months already.

Circle of 10 Image Model Search 2009

Luis Hontiveros is just one of the candidates in the Circle of 10 Image Model Search 2009.

He will compete against 20 plus other male finalists of the 9-year-old modeling competition, which has been a training ground of Precious Lara Quigaman, Jason Abalos, Jennylyn Mercado, Ejay Falcon, Nadine Samonte, Dion Ignacio, Rainier Castillo, Sheena Halili, Say Alonzo and Alfred Vargas.

Last March, Luis has won the title of Binatang Pinoy 2009. That is why, I easily recognized him during their guesting at Wowowee yesterday.

Prior to that Wowowee appearance, the finalists (consisting of 25 males and 25 females) have already guested last month on Unang Hirit in GMA 7 as participants of the show's Flores De Mayo or Santacruzan special.

The finals of Circle of 10 Image Model Search is on June 27.

100 Most Powerful Celebrities 2009: Pacquiao is #57

Philippines' very own boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, who in the last year has defeated three bigtime boxers such as David Diaz, Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton, has landed on Forbes' annual "100 Most Powerful Celebrities" list.

For the period June 2008-June 2009, Manny Pacquiao is ranked 57th Most Powerful Celebrity in the world, beating other famous celebs such as Meryl Streep (#64), Daniel Radcliffe (#70), Reese Witherspoon (#71), Nicole Kidman (#74), Mr. Pinay Mail-Order-Bride Alec Baldwin (#91), Steve Carell (#93) and many more.

Aside from Pacquiao, other athletes in the "Most Powerful" list are Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant, who are both in the Top 10, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Roger Federer, David Beckham, Jeff Gordon, Derek Jeter, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic and Danica Patrick.

Dela Hoya of course is nowhere to be found on the list.

Pacquiao, who earlier has been named one of the most influential people for 2009 by TIME Magazine, is the only full-blooded Filipino to make it in the prestigious list.

According to Forbes, Manny had 40 million dollar payout in the last 12 months.

"Widely regarded at the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Pacquiao had two blockbuster fights in the past year: He took on Oscar De La Hoya in December and Ricky Hatton in May. Pac-Man is a huge celebrity in his home of the Philippines and plans to run for political office there once his days in the ring are over. Counts Nike and beer maker San Miguel among his sponsors."

Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Celebs list was measured on power based on money and fame. The official ranking was the average result of a celeb's ranking in four areas: Pay Rank, Web Rank, Press Rank and TV/Radio Rank.

Pacquiao's pay rank is 36, web rank: 55, press rank: 59 and tv/radio rank: 80.

That means, his earnings of $40 million has been ranked 36th in the world for the last 12 months.

US President Barack Obama has topped the web, press, TV and radio rankings, but is ranked the least when it comes to his pay rank. (He's #49 over-all)

Oprah Winfrey, who was the most powerful celeb in 2007 and 2008, has bowed down to #2 and gave way to Angelina Jolie, who's now the new most powerful and influential celebrity in the world.

Pussycat Dolls Live in Manila

The Pussycat Dolls will be back in Manila.

After three years, the Pussycat Dolls will be staging a concert in Manila on June 11, 2009 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, the same venue where the concert of David Cook and David Archuleta was held.

Pussycat Dolls is composed of 5 sexy female members namely Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Fil-Am-Russian Nicole Valiente Scherzinger, who's a CLEAR Shampoo and Conditioner endorser.

The concert is entitled "A CLEAR Doll Domination: Pussycat Dolls Live in Manila" which is (obviously) presented by CLEAR and MTV Philippines.

Doll Domination is also the title of Pussycat Dolls' latest album.

The Manila concert of Pussycat Dolls (with Space Cowboy) on June 11 will be the group's last destination for its World Doll Domination Concert Tour in Asia & Oceania, which started last May 16 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Tomorrow, June 6, Pussycat Dolls will also be having a concert at the Olympic Cycling Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.

They have already toured in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.

After the concert in Manila, Pussycat Dolls will continue its 3-month Doll Domination tour in the US, UK, Great Britain and Denmark.

Among the hit songs of Pussycat Dolls are Buttons, Don't Cha, Stickwitu, When I Grow Up, Hush Hush and (the latest) Jai Ho! (You're My Destiny).

The Pussycat Dolls' first Philippine concert was in July 28, 2006 at the Big Dome.

Jericho Rosales on S Magazine June 2009

I said before that Jericho Rosales is gaining back the popularity he used to have.

True enough, S Magazine also feels the same way.

On its June 2009 issue, S Magazine has a feature story of Jericho Rosales, who according to S Mag, has reclaimed his rightful place in showbiz.

After a long, hard climb to the top, Jericho Rosales found himself in the last position he ever expected to be in—on his way to the bottom. It was as big a shock to him as it was to industry insiders. After starring in a number of critically and commercially acclaimed films as well as various top-rated telenovelas, no one doubted he was destined for greatness in the tradition of Christopher de Leon and, possibly, even the late National Artist Fernando Poe Jr. But fate has a way of sneaking up on people. When he least expected it, Jericho’s life began to unravel starting with the dismal ratings of Panday, followed by an unpopular decision to quit acting in favor of pursuing a singing career, and finally, a highly controversial relationship and break-up with then girlfriend Heart Evangelista. Passion's Muse Anne Curtis on MEG June 2009

After being a two-time cover girl last month, Anne Curtis is covering up another magazine, this time in the June 2009 cover of MEG Magazine.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

You have so much on your plate, how does it feel to be where you are? I'm just loving it. I love what I do, I don't even think in that way, like however I was before, it's still the same kind of passion but it's just that I have more of it now. So it's the same thing and I still love it that's why I don't complain so much with the workload, I don't complain with the sleepless nights because I love what I do. So to anyone who can't take that, they obviously don't enjoy what they're doing.

What is the one advice that you always remember? Well when it comes to my work and even with life in general, [it's that] you just don't know how much a smile can do for someone, how [far] it goes, like the effect of a smile, how beyond it goes after you're actually done with the whole action. It goes beyond that, it reaches different stories, and so on, and so forth.

What was the biggest challenge you've overcome lately? First the death of my little sister, it's [been] the biggest challenge because it's my first time I had to deal with that, who's in my direct family. I held her when she was first born, she was four months when she passed away because of heart failure so it was really, really hard. I was just so blessed that at that time, I was close to God and that helped me so much to deal with death. Because before when people would ask me, "What's your biggest fear?" Death. And I was able to get through that, and it brought together the whole family, even my half siblings on my dad's side. And then, heartache siguro. The biggest heartache of my life so far that I had to deal with. As I said when you're surrounded by good company, good friends, good family and people who support you, it's all you really need.

All About Eve's Nicole Iza Calzado is a Nouveau Belle (New Beauty) in the June 2009 issue of MEGA Magazine, as shot by Jake Versoza at the Manila Ocean Park.

MEGA describes Iza as someone who has a flourishing career, a renewed self-confidence, a passion to live life to the fullest, a newfound love for her body and an urge to see worlds outside her own.

Iza also dished out a bit about her breakup with her longtime boyfriend.

These days, Iza Calzado is looking more radiant and fresher than usual. There seems to be a bright aura that emanates from within her graceful, delicate body. She is a picture of happiness and contentment, not just because her newest soap All About Eve is gaining momentum in the ratings race or that the Hollywood remake of Yam Laranes’ The Echo, in which she appears in, would finally see the light of day. The reason seems deeper, more personal.


It is a different Iza sitting in front of the mirror. If one were to base Iza’s current state of mind on her looks alone, he or she would never ever guess that the young actress was previously sidelined by a breakup, which happened several months ago. Such heartbreaking episode was a turning point in Iza’s life. After all, it’s not easy ending a relationship, especially if that relationship lasted for four years.

The pain and sadness from her breakup with her US-based Fil-Am boyfriend, however, is now water under the bridge. A woman of grace and maturity, two golden traits she developed over the years, Iza is not too keen anymore to talk about certain details about her previous relationship. Displaying magnanimity, she chooses to be quiet and politely declines to answer questions about her former boyfriend. She says he’s “a dear friend and a great guy” and that no amount of prodding, especially from the media, would make her spill the beans because she still has respect for the person.

That part of her life is now but a memory. The experience has helped her see the world in a different perspective. It made her realize her strengths and, more importantly, her weaknesses. Although she claims she’s far from being a total woman, she is more driven now, more focused, and more centered—a huge step up from what she used to be before.

“I am different. I am more driven. I am more focused on my work. I set goals and I strive to achieve them. I wasn’t like that before. Now I want to build a house, purchase this car, excel in this field. Now I think of my future, even my future family. But I don’t have deadlines for these goals,” she says with a smile-- a positive indication of Iza's current state of mind. Yes, she's definitely moving up and moving forward.

Kris Bernal at Aljur Abrenica, pantapat kina Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson?

It seems like GMA has already given up the loveteams of Mark Herras-Jennylyn Mercado and Jennica Garcia-Mart Escudero, and is now banking on their hottest young loveteam of this moment: Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica.

Sila na kaya ang pangtapat ng GMA 7 sa ABS-CBN's hottest young loveteam today Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson?

With their very successful solo soap Sine Novela Presents: Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? on GMA's Dramarama sa Hapon block, Aljur and Kris will go back sa primetime via the soap All My Life starting this June 29.

Kris and Aljur were last seen on the primetime via Luna Mystika, but they were not the lead stars there.

Pero this time, sa All My Life, ay sina Kris at Aljur na mismo ang magdadala ng nasabing soap, just like in Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, kung saan may mga maiinit silang love scenes, scenes which have not been done yet by Kim and Gerald.

Malaking blessing nga ito sa dalawa at mas malaking hamon ito para sa kanila lalo pa't wala nang ibang "solid" loveteam sa GMA ngayon kundi sila na lamang.

In All My Life, which is an original story (not a remake), Kris-Aljur will have a very strong support from Lani Mercado, Jay Manalo, Zoren Legazpi, Gelli de Belen, Gladys Guevarra and Manilyn Reynes.

Young supporting cast includes LJ Reyes, Stef Prescott, Jade Lopez, Bryan Termulo
Chris Cayzer, Jay Aquitania, Byron Ortille and Moymoy Palaboy.

With Bryan and Cayzer in the cast, parang may kinalaman sa pagkanta o kaya "banda" ang magiging role ni Aljur, who can sing very well naman talaga.

It will be directed by Mac Alejandre (MariMar, Darna) and "ober da bakod" director Andoy Ranay (Prinsesa ng Banyera, Marina).

Matapatan kaya nina Kris at Aljur sina Kim at Gerald na tried and tested na ang partnership?

Let's wait and see as this upcoming teleserye prince and princess will be part of our primetime viewing this June 29 on GMA Telebabad.

Aljur-Kris loveteam will also be having their launching movie under Regal Films. It will be directed by Maryo J. delos Reyes.

Where's your Adonis bod Piolo Pascual?

Piolo Pascual drew the loudest cheer during the Bench Fashion Show (for the 2009 Philippine Fashion Week) held yesterday, but it was disappointing because he didn't show off his super yummy Adonis bod.

Unlike other male models of Bench such as Diether Ocampo and Rafael Rosell who walked the ramp half-naked, Piolo Pascual was casually formal and only gave a tease.

It seems like Piolo is no longer up for anything. I remember during his The Buzz guesting with Angel Locsin for the promo of their movie, host Kris Aquino asked him to show off his much publicized "abs", but he refused.

But of course, Piolo Pascual is Piolo Pascual. He still made the audience scream and felt satisfied to see him being part of the show even without crowd-drawers Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes.

even on a Bench Fashion Show.

Bench has properly utilized the popularity of 'Tayong Dalawa' stars during its fashion show held last night at the Mall of Asia.

The said fashion show was part of the weeklong Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2009.
