Maja is also the lead star in the Star Cinema film Villa Estrella which is now showing in theaters nationwide.
Initial reports say that Villa Estrella had a very low opening gross last Wednesday, as compared to the 4 previously released Star Cinema films this 2009.
It should at least end up in the Top 10 over-all in the Philippine Box Office for 2009, just like last year when all but one Star Cinema movies made it to the over-all Top 10.
Villa Estrella is currently being shown in only 50+ cinemas nationwide as compared to almost 200 screens for the Hollywood monster hit Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen.
I've watched Transformers 2 yesterday at one SM mall, and only one cinema is showing Villa Estrella, while the rest are all Transformers.
