MMFF 2008 Tidbits:

*Compared to last year's 1st day gross earnings of 59.9 million pesos, this year's opening day total is up by 14.4%.

*All eight (8) official entries have been graded by the Cinema Evaluation Board, 3 As and 5 Bs, a first in the festival's history.

*The MMFF Parade of Stars 2008 happened last Tuesday where the stars were aboard their respective movies' high-budgeted floats, but unfortunately, there will no Best Float award to be handed out this year. The reason provided is that the committee was undecided to choose the winner because all floats were worthy of the said award.

*The Awards Night or Gabi ng Parangal is happening Saturday night, December 27, 2008 at the Harbor Garden Tent of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Red Carpet is at 6:30 PM, Awarding Ceremonies starts at 7:30 and Katy! the Musical follows at 8:30 PM.

Boy Abunda will host the awards night while performers for the event will be Karylle, Sheryn Regis, Sitti, Yeng Constantino and Richard Poon.

Katy! The Musical Concert will feature KC Concepcion and Jericho Rosales with topnotch performers such as Sitti, Bituin Escalante, Dulce, Mitch Valdez, Isay Alvarez, Frenchie Dy, Gian Magdangal, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Ciara Sotto, Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia, Eugene Villaluz, Gab Valenciano and Rachel Alejandro.
