The 1st episode of ABC's Desperate Housewives Season 4 last September 30 drew a lot of negative reactions from the Filipinos, after its star Teri Hatcher delivered a line of racial slur and discrimination against medical schools in the Philippines.

Teri Hatcher plays Susan Mayer in the said hit program and in that particular episode, she was caught saying these offensive lines, "Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Coz I would just like to make sure they are not from some med school in the Philippines.

How desperate!

The issue has already reached the Philippine government and they want an apology from ABC, writers of Desperate Housewives and even Teri Hatcher.

An e-mail is circulating on the internet, asking the Filipino community to sign an online petition to protest the show's offensive remarks against med schools in the Philippines.

In as much as the Filipinos believe how desperate the show is to underestimate Filipino doctors, one blog says that it is the Filipinos who are desperate, especially with that online petition started by a certain Kevin Nadal.

As of latest development, Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon, Filipino consul in Los Angeles, has sent already a letter of complaint to ABC network stressing that Americans go after medical services in the Philippines when they cannot afford them at home.
